MORE STAMPIN' UP! PRINTED WINDOW SHEETS

I think that I could get very addicted to using these great window sheets.  It is the easiest way to make a card that looks like you really fussed!  Her I used the quarter of the sheet that looks like the puffs of the dandelion.  Accented with 1 1/4" circle punch behind the window sheet with the Pumpkin Pie Corduroy Buttons on the font.

HAWAII STAMPIN' UP! STYLE: DAY SIX

Our last day in Hawaii, as sad as we were to leave Paradise we knew that our little Alayna would be born any time and so getting on board the plain for home was a bit easier.  I will share just a few last day photos.  We spent most of the last day walking around the resort and taking it all in.  The beauty and grandness is more than words can express.

Each night when we return to our rooms, there are gifts awaiting on our turned down beds. Stampin' Up! treats us like royalty and it so much fun to see what will appear each nigh.

HAWAII STAMPIN' UP! STYLE: DAY FIVE

Each day is filled with special memories.  The Hawaiian Luau is one of them.  We were greeted by lovely little hula girls and they placed Kukui Nut Lei's around our necks.  Men received dark ones and women received light colored ones.  They are wonderful keep sakes.

DSC00449 copy

They had local crafters booths were we could learn to make Lia's, sample Poi (that is one dish I won't be adding to my list of favorite foods), woodcarvers, coconut huskers, quilters.

Do you ever meet someone and it feels like you have known them your entire life?  That is how I felt when I meet Heather, we were on the 12 hour Grand Island tour on the 2nd day.  We have emailed since we got home and I know we will be life long friends.

DSC00454 copy

Most of my life my friends have all been tall, Tom says that's not hard when your only 5'2" tall.  I have always been short next to Tom, but you can imagine how small I felt standing next to retired NBA Basketball player Thurl Bailey.  Thurl Bailey is one of the Board of Directors of Stampin' Up!  Often times we are blessed with his beautiful voice.  You can check out his music click here.

Anyone who placed a Hawaii Sale order was invited to a special make & take night, unfortunately I came down with the flu and for one of the first times in 11 years I had to cancel the event.  I wanted to share the make and takes I had planned for this special evening. You can click on the pictures to make them larger to view.

HAWAII STAMPIN' UP! STYLE: DAY FOUR

Everyone on board.  Just outside the lobby is the tram stop which we took to the main lobby for the bus to the beach.  With all the beautiful water at the resort you might ask why take a bus to the beach?  At first we didn't plan to go, but pier pressure of our good friends and the guys telling Tom  their was a topless beach right next door, we were on the bus in no time!  He did know they were kidding... I think.

Hapuna’s white sands have earned it a reputation as the number one beach in the US and in the top ten internationally.   My favorite is still the beach at Half Moon Kay in the Bahamas.  The water was really nice and we enjoyed playing in the surf.

More than the trips themselves reconnecting with friends is always very special.  Miss you Sue and Deb!

The guys enjoy time together too, not worried about their hair getting wet.

I think someone did this sand sculpture of me, do you see the resemblance.

More Make & Takes from Hawaii.  We made these adorable little purses, mine has a "P" on it for Patsy, but it was difficult to capture on photo, so I am using the photo from our handout.  I hope to make these in an upcoming class so stay tuned!

Don't you just love this saying!DSC00705 copy

HAWAII STAMPIN' UP! STYLE: DAY THREE

A great way to see the Big Island of Hawaii is to take the Grand Circle Island Tour.  We planned ahead to spend the day with Friends Ann (stamper Dog's agent) and Cecil Clemmer.  It was a very nice day and we enjoyed it very much.

Here is Cecil and Ann Clemmer at one of our first stops the Black Sand Beaches.

Next Stop Volcano National Park...my question is why are we standing this close to an active volcano?

DSC00317 copy

It is always such a treat to see Sarah Douglas.  They did mention a light jacket or sweater would be nice,  However a winter parka would have been welcome.

DSC00332 copy

I suffer a bit from claustrophobia, and the Lava tubes were no exception.  I was well into the tube before I realized it wasn't just a 15-20 feet.  But clutching Tom's arm and a few tears I did make it all the way through.  Now for me it was a major accomplishment and a highlight of the trip.  Tom's arm has healed nicely from the claw marks.

DSC00338 copy

Exit from the Lava Tube!  I am alive!!

Our final travels took us through Parker Ranch.  The ranch was founded in 1847 and is one of the oldest ranches in the US, pre-dating many mainland ranches in Texas and other southwestern states. Spreading approximately 135,000 acres Parker Ranch is also among the country’s largest.

Hawaii Make & Takes... yes while in the beautiful Island we did stamp.  (I actually stamped about and hour and brought the rest home do do in the cold and snow!).  The first two make and takes I am sharing today are made with the stamp set For All You Do to be released in the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog.

HAWAII STAMPIN' UP! STYLE: Day Two

Thanks to everyone who wished me Happy Birthday yesterday!

Many of you know that Tom was hoping to donate one of his Kidney's to his cousin Bob.  Unfortunately he did not pass all the testing and was not able to, but Easter weekend Bob received a kidney after waiting 9 months, which was very exciting.

My Birthday was spent bitter sweet.  Bob was admitted to the University of MN Hospital yesterday morning, as soon as we got the news, Tom and I headed to Minneapolis.  Time with Bob, Susan an Chrissy is always great, and we are grateful that he has been stabilized and was giving everyone a bad time before we left for home.  Please keep him in your prayers and if you are inspired to send off a greeting that would be awesome -- they could use some cheering up.  Just mention you are a stamping friend.

Now back to Paradise!

Breakfast with friends Jeff and Dianna Gibbs, if you don't know Dianna you are missing a lot.  She is the bright spot in the day (even when she ditches you smiling).  She is incredibly talented and if you haven't seen her work be sure and check it out on her blog http://www.dianagibbs.typepad.com/.  Not only will you be inspired by her work, but also by her writing.

This is the view across the ocean-fed Lagoon at breakfast, the resort is located along a rocky stretch of coastline, but you could enjoy the white-sand beach at the Lagoon.

It was great to snorkel in with the colorful reef fish and green sea turtles.  You could also rent hydro-bike, kayaks, paddleboats, or water bikes.

This is almost the exact photo (without me in it) that I used as my screen saver to inspire me to earn the incentive trip.

We spent a great deal of time at the point on the right of the photo Whale watching.  They gave us a show almost every day.

HAWAII STAMPIN' UP! STYLE

Today is another day and I am happy to say I am back to normal 100% okay I know some of you are saying that's impossible so I will restate it, I am physically 100%. It's been so long since I have been sick that I forgot how too be.  I just don't have time to lay around when there is stamping to be done.  The hardest part was having to cancel my Hawaii Make & Take night.  I had the pleasure of preparing for it which makes one relive the trip all over.  So I decided for this week I am going to share my trip via blog!  Now you won't be able to do the M&T but you can enjoy the inspiration.

We arrive in Paradise on March 21 and it is paradise.  The side of the island we were on gets 2-3 inches of rain per year so we had 6 days of nothing but Sunshine.  Coming from MN where we still have feet of snow in the yard, Tom knew the minute we landed it might be hard to get me back home.

Here was our home away from home, the Palace Towers at the beautiful Hilton Waikoloa.
You take a tram or these neat little boats to get to your room.

Here is the beautiful room, we enjoyed sitting on our
private lanai in the morning.

Untitled-1 copy

The grounds (62 acres) of the hotel were covered with extraordinary pools.  Something for everyone. Including children's pools, adult only pools, rivers, water slides and even a Dive in Movie at night.

In the hospitality room one was able to enjoy seeing samples of cards and projects.  Here are two that really caught my eye.  I am sorry I can't give credit to the creators.  The first one is made using the incredible new Pop-up click the picture to find out more!

DSC00396 copy

This next sample is made with the stamp set For All You Do
to be released in the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog.

Stop back tomorrow for some more sunshine and inspiration!
