Scrappin 8 x 8 for a full year of fun!

For several years 8 x 8 albums have been on my wish list of new Stampin' Up! products.  This year I was so excited when the new catalog arrived to have them.  Since I love to scrapbook and never seem to get as much done as I want to, I decided to offer some scrapbooking classes to motivate myself to get scrappin! At last months class we created 4 - 2 page 8 x 8 spreads.  Our goal is to have a complete year of scrapbooking done in the next three months.

September Workshop Make & Take

My friend Mary Fish had a card she created using the Stampin' Up! Wonderfall stamp set and these Stampin' Up! colors Sahara Sand, Tangerine Tango, Basic Gray, Basic Black and Very Vanilla.  I loved it so much that I thought I would use it for my workshop this month with a different layout and designer paper.  I finished the card off with a Pumpkin Pie Glimmer Brad from the Brights Collection.  Since our daughter's birthday is the end of October her birthday theme always seemed to be around Halloween colors so this made me think of her while I was creating it.  This card would work great for any occasion this time of year!

Monday Matinee Paper Piecing

The project was featured in the Stampin' Success a monthly magazine exclusively for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators.  It features the Festival of Prints Stack (pg 20 in the Holiday Catalog) and is the perfect accessory.  I love this paper stack it has so many beautiful patterns it is hard to chose a favorite or even which side to use. It has 48 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 double sided sheets.  If you watch Monday Matinee to the end you can meet me in person...

Stampin' Up! Card Challenge Creations

At my last meeting for Stampin' Up! demonstrators on my Definitely Diva Stampers team we had fun with a stamping challenge.  I had each Diva bring their favorite stamp set.  I picked out a card from the 2012-2013 Stampin' Up! Catalog and cut card stock in different colors than the catalog and had them create a card.  I will be sharing some of the results with you over the next few days.

This is the card template chosen from page 21

Advisory Board Retreat 2012

Have you ever had an experience that seemed like a dream?  That is exactly what the Stampin' Up! Advisory Board Retreat was like.  Stampin' Up! always treats us like royalty no matter what trip they plan, but this was the best of the best.

Advisory Board 2012 002

It all started with a stretch limo meeting us at the airport.  From left to right: Heather Summers, Ronda Wade, Amy Storrie, Desiree Spenst, Me and Mary Fish.

Then when we arrived at our Suites at the Residence Inn by Marriott, there was a special welcome gift waiting for us.

Advisory Board 2012 017

The next day we arrived at Stampin' Up! and Shelli meet us at the door and I have to say a huge flood of emotions overtook me.  I can't even begin to express the joy I felt at this moment.

Advisory Board 2012 016      Advisory Board 2012 020

Just like always everything coordinating from the invitation we received in the mail to the Welcome sign at the door and the folders for our notes.  They just always think of everything.

In that beautiful litle box is our Advisory Board Rings.

Dsc03064Here are all our rings, not only are our hands connected so are our hearts!

Dsc03021Stering Gardner, Shelli's husband, planned the festivities for our evening at the Gardner home.  The Limo pulled up to a white carriage, their grandsons all dressed up, helped us out of the Limo and escorted us to the carriage and handed us a beautiful red rose.  Them as the carriage traveled through their neighborhood to their home family and friends along the way waved and greeted us.  We enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by family and friends and served by their grandchildren.

Advisory Board 2012 063Then we changed into our matching jammies and settled into the family room to exchange our Favorite Things Gifts.

Advisory Board 2012 057Another special treat was having Sara join us for the evening activites.

Favorite Things Gift!

OMG what an evening!  I can't tell you how exciting and enriching this experience is and going to be!  Okay now for "My Favorite Things".

It was hard to pick just 3 things but here is what I chose and why.   I created a little flip album with on of my favorite hobby stamping!  On the flaps of the album are... (for them to put their favorite photo of those things).

  1. Faith
  2. Family
  3. Friends
  4. Nature
  5. Moments
  6. Stampin' Up!
  7. Favorite Place to Go!

My Favorite Candy - Good and Plenty!

I feel in love with Longaberger many years ago  (1989).  Not only do I have to love them all around my home, but we use them!  They are not only beautiful but also serve a purpose, it gives me great joy to use them.  While I had contemplated buying each person a basket - thinking about packing them seemed a bit overwhelming.  So I thought about it and Christmas was always one of my favorite holidays so I decided to get them each a Longaberger Collectable Pewter Christmas Ornament.

Advisory Board Retreat 2012

I am "leaving on a jet plane" in the morning heading to Salt Lake City, Utah for the Advisory Board Retreat.

Stampin' Up! selected six Advisory Board members from its more than 35,000 independent demonstrators in North America, to serve for one year. We will work closely with company officials to provide invaluable feedback, ideas, and suggestions. The company relies on this information as it makes critical business decisions regarding product offerings, business opportunities and career plan, and customer service.

"Serving on our Advisory Board is a tremendous honor and privilege, as well as a very demanding responsibility,” says Stampin’ Up! cofounder and CEO Shelli Gardner. “These outstanding women play an essential role in our growth and success as they offer insight, advice and suggestions into what our customers are looking for and what would most benefit our demonstrators.”

Advisory Board members are selected based on a long list of criteria, including their performance, attitude, and example. Each of them has demonstrated outstanding success in various aspects of their Stampin’ Up! business. Stampin’ Up! congratulates these women on this prestigious honor.

So I am very  humbled to think that I was chosen for such an amazing task, exicted and a bit nervous.   We will be working hard but also have some time to play and enjoy getting to know each other.  We have compiled several of our favorite things and placed them in gift bags to give to each other and Shelli... a way for us to get to know each other better.

Here are the gift bags that I stichted up using Stampin' Up! fabric...

There are several colors to choose from.

We will be opening these on Monday evening so stop back Tuesday to see "My Favorite Things".
