Today we celebrated our grandaughters 4th Birthday, and since she LOVES hello kitty, I only thought it was appropriate to make her a Hello Kitty card. Everything pink with Melon Mambo Cardstock and Designer Series Paper. Finishing touch on the tag with Rhinestone Basic Jewels colored with a Sharpie permanent marker. All other supplies are Stampin' Up!
I made the bow using the Fork Technique. Love the 3/8" Striped Organdy Ribbon that is featured in the Spring Catalog. It comes in three great colors Marina Mist, Old Olive and Melon Mambo. The face is the Large Oval Punch, and the ears are a heart punched out upside down. I applied Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets to the Basic Black cardstock and cut them into very thin strips with our awesome Table Top Cutter.
This is one of those cards that looks way better in person. I want to give you a tip about the paper piercing on this card. If you do not have the new Stampin' Up! paper piercing tool, you NEED to get one. While I Have about a half dozen sitting around I figured I better try out the new one. I could not believe how much sharper it is and what a clean nice hole it makes! It has an ergonomic handle to make paper piercing a breeze and easy on your hand and wrist.
Be sure to add one to your Stampin' Up! paper crafting supply order, after all they are only $3.95 and you will truly be amazed. And don't forget to check out our unique paper piercing templates with a variety of designs to go with it.
Reinker Spread was a neat technique that demonstrator, Crystal French shared several years ago. It can add great interest to any outline stamped image that you use when making your handmade card. Here, I used the Secret Garden Stamp Set and embossed it and then used the reinker spread technique to give color to the flower. This weeks video will show exactly how to do this technique, starting out with an embossed image. If you have never embossed let me show you a few steps below, before you watch the video. All supplies shown are Stampin' Up! As a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator you can get any of these paper crafting supplies at my online store.
The image in the video I used Versa Mark and Clear Embossing Powder. For this tutorial I used classic ink so you could see it better. (You can use classic ink to get a colored image, but, you need to work very quickly as the ink dries fast).
Ink Pad - Clear Embossing Powder - Heat Tool
Pour the Embossing Powder over the stamped image, then tap the powder off.
Heat image with your heat too, till it looks a bit glossy, let cool.
I want you to know that I am not a Seamstress, but last year when I discovered making the little tissue holders I was hooked. Now don't get too excitied that is all I sew. Seamstress or not--you'll love using our high quality Designer Fabric--especially at 50 percent off!
Fabric just isn't for sewing anymore you can tear it and make a great ribbon. This card is one I did last fall using one of my favorite packages Spice Cake! Our
Designer Fabric is designed to coordinate with Stampin' Up! inks,
paper, and other accessories, and is perfect for adding a stylish touch
to traditional paper projects. Available in an extra-wide fat quarters
(18" x 26"). If you are a seamstress you can use it for quilting, clothing, home décor, and much more!
What do you plant in the spring to fill your flower gardens? I do best with this type of flower stamped with the Secret Garden Stamp Set and cut out with the Coordinating Framelits. The only time I have green thumb is when I get it in my green ink pad. Every now and then I stamp a card that I LOVE and this is one of those. Hope you enjoy it to.
Would love to hear your comments... Do you have a green thumb or only when you stamp?
