Week 24 Telescoping Card, Technique How To

Telescoping Card 2
Have you ever made a telescoping card?  They have never been easier than with coordinating stamp sets and framelits.  While it is easy when they are coordinating they do not have to match to do this technique.

Do the weeks go as fast for you as for me?  So much to share and so little time!  I am so grateful we have the ability to meet her online!  At one time not so long ago, the only way to learn arts and crafts were to attend a class in person or read about it. Now you can watch a video at your convenience and as often as you wish. Hope you enjoy this weeks video!

Labels Collection Framelits DiesThe innovative, thin, wafer-like design of these dies lets you see where you're placing the design before you cut! Layer dies inside each other to cut frames for stamp images. Cut single labels for accents or layering. Largest label is approximately 5-7/16" wide. Includes 6 dies in a sturdy envelope for easy storage in our Big Shot Die Storage.

Apothecary Art Stamp Set
Do you prefer wood or clear mount stamps?  I go back and fourth.  I love the space saver that clear mounts offer.  Now that the wood mounts come in cases similar to the clear mount just thicker I have found I am ordering more wood this year.  Sometimes I feel like I am cheating on wood when I order clear... after all  I feel in love with the little maple blocks and rubber so many years ago.  I do appreciate being able to see through the wood block so that I can see exactly where I am stamping.  I am so grateful I have the options to order either.

Dress Up with Stampin' Up! Framelits

Dress Up Framelits
Did you ever play dress up as a child?  I know we did, and it was one of our favorite things to do.  Put on some of Mom's old shoes and fancy dresses.  I still like to play dress up and being able to cut out and play with all different types of designer papers, and colors make the Dress Up Framelits so much fun.

Did you know being Creative can keep you healthy.  Have you ever wanted to take up a hobby but felt you didn't have the time or money?  Read this great blog post and then set aside some time to find something creative that you would enjoy doing!

I know many years ago when I was struggling with some major heath issues and I started to stamp.  I never intended for it to be a way to health, but after 15 years I feel heathier and have more energy than I did so many years ago.  So, take out your day planner and mark off some time for yourself and get creative!

Even though my work involves being creative everyday - I have made a date with myself to start out each day creating a card!  And today's sample is the card I made this morning!

Well I am going to end for today as we are off to Alexandria Art in the Park.  There will be over 150 Fine Art and Handmade Craft booths!

Gifts of Kindness Stampin' Up! Stamp Set

Gifts of Kindness Stamp Set
Some stamp sets just become your "go to" stamp set, and Gifts of Kindness is one of those sets!  With a variety of sentiments and the fun silhouette flower you can become very creative.  While pink is not always my go to color, I can't stop using the Strawberry Slush.

So many of my customer love how all the cardtsock, ribbons, ink & embellishments coordinate.  One person said it is like a travel agent for stamping and another said it is like "Colors for Dummies".   Yes Stampin' Up! has taken the guess work out of "does this go together?"

Week 23 Acrylic Block Watercolor Technique How To

Acrylic Block Watercolor Technique, How To Series Week 23
OMG I just love these colors together, Soft Sky, Crisp Cantaloupe (I tried to find a nice shell for convention in Crisp Cantaloupe - went to every store in town and couldn't find one, I had a new outfit the color of Bake Brown Sugar and thought it would be perfect - no luck!)  Okay back to the colors... it is easy for me to sagway and my hubby always says is there a point to this story... anyway Pistachio Pudding and So Saffron.  Love it!

I worked on several techniques before I left for the Stampin' Up! 2013 Convention, and it was so hard to wait to share them with you.  Much like waiting for Christmas!  Anyway I hope you enjoy this weeks Technique How To Video, Acrylic Blocks Watercolor Technique.

This is part of my 52 week series of Technique How To.  Watch the video and then try the technique yourself and make a small sample to put on the top/or the back of the technique booklet page.  After 52 weeks you will have an entire Technique, How To booklet

Stampin' Up! Convention 2013 Highlights!

stampin up convention card gift from Debi Pippin
One of the biggest questions I get asked at convention is "How was your Year". while this year didn't hold and record breaking awards and maybe the fewest awards of any year... This year has been one of the best years of my Stampin' Up! career.  For several reasons...

  • One is this special card pictured above that was given to me by Debi Pippin a demonstrator and a true artist.  She wanted to thank me for being an inspiration to her in her business.  This truly is the greatest award, when you know that something you have shared or done has inspired someone else.
  • New friends, old friends on my blog it has been just AWESOME,  You are all very near and dear to me, and I look forward to inspiring you even more this year.  So get out your stamps!
  • Serving on the Stampin' Up! Advisory Board was more amazing than I had expected and I am so excited for the new demonstrators that were chosen to serve this next year.
  • The friendships that are made through Stampin' Up!
  • Have a growing community of Diva and Dude Stampers!
  • Having 19 Diva's attend the 2013 Convention
  • A trip of a life time to Fiji this spring for my wonderful husband and me all paid for by Stamin' Up!
  • Incredible support and loving family. Life is Good!

Now I want to share with you in pictures the past few days of celebration!

In Color Boutiques Stampin' Up!
The flower center features the new In Color Boutique Details, much like buttons minus the holes.  They are a great way to had dimension to your card.

It is hard to believe that my year of serving on the 2012-2013 Advisory Board will be over.  It still seems very surreal, it has been an amazing year, and I feel so blessed to have been chosen to serve with 5 other amazing demonstrators.  I know our special friendship will continue for many years to come.  It will be exciting to see who is selected to serve at Convention this next week.  We will be celebrating Stampin' Up!'s 25th Anniversary! It is going to be an amazing event, and I can't wait to see all the exciting surprises they have in store for us!

Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate you taking the time to visit my blog!  I wish I could stamp with you all in person, what a party that would be!

Stampin up In Colors Ink Pads and Papers 2013-2015
The new colors come with fun names as always, Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, Costal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar.   A fun story about Stampin' Up! colors...My sister Lori is a kindergarten teacher and Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  One of my other downline had a booth at the county fair.   On of my sister's Stampin' Up! customers came to the booth and said  with greet pride..."my demonstrator is Lori Hovey do you know here?  She knows all her colors!".  My other downline responded with "I hope so she teaches kindergarten".  That is a story my "little shisher" will never live down.
