I Heart You!

Gold Soiree

The sentiment on this card is from the "And Many More" stamp set.  It was on my first order from the New 2014-2015 Stampin' Up! Catalog.  It has just about any sentiment you could ever want and the perfect size (not to large and not too small)!

And many more

When I first joined Stampin' Up! over 16 years ago, border stamps were all the rage.  Well in this year they are making a come back.  The row of leaves cross the card are stamped with the Bordering Blooms photopolymer stamp set.  With being able to see through the stamps creating great borders has never been easier.

Sneak Peek...
Be sure and stop by Wednesday and watch the Quick Tip video on how easy it is to place the Calypso Coral Flowers in the black outline with the photopolymer stamps.

Happy Blooming Birthday!

Flower patch happy blooming birthday

Border Buddy Saturday, Patsy here. Today I am going to share with you another card made using the Flower Patch photopolymer stamp set and the coordinating Flower Flair Framelit.  This month it is my go to stamp set!

This stamp set paired with the Gold Soiree paper, is what I would call a fool proof set.  No matter what color or style card I make I feel totally successful and creative, and that isn't always true.  Some of my cards after hours of stamping and looking at it, adding this and that, and not feeling it is just right go into the circular file.  Any of you ever have that happen?

Step Up Stampin' with Traveler!

Hello Stampers,

It's another episode of "Step Up Stampin" with Alison today.  I'm using the Traveler stamp set along with World Map and Postage Due to create a stepped up version of a simple card.

So here are the cards for today!

This is the simple card - I love the vintage feel of the stamps I used in this card.

This is the Step Up Stampin' version.  The full PDF instructions can be found below along with a link to a video showing you how to create the card!

I Miss You Already!

Flower Patch Cut Out

I Miss You Already, is something I often say after returning from a Stampin' Up! incentive trip.  And this saying says it all...

Good friends are liek stars

I am so supper excited this week my stamping cruise buddies Linda Heller (StampingSchool) and Jan Burnett (InkRubberArt) and their hubbies have come to Minnesota for a visit.  They will be her for the entire week and I will show them all the exciting things we do to have fun in Central Minnesota's Lake Country.

Jan Burnett, Linda Heller and Me
Jan, Linda and Me

While I have so many great demonstrator friends I have meet over the years of earning 13 Stampin' Up! incentive trips, what is special about these friends is our husbands got to know each other and became buddies.

Sadly our 4th couple won't be able to make it as they have  the most adorable (next to my grand-babies) new grand-baby "Izzy".  So guess what?   They would rather fly to see her than us, go figure :)  We will miss you Deb & Kevin Valder!

Flower Flair Framelits

Okay back to the card, I got a bit carried away I am just so stinking excited.  Today's card features some amazing new products and it really can't be captured in a picture.  The Gold Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper as a shiny look and the gold is sorta metallic.  Paired with the Gold Foil paper OMG you just have to make one and see for yourself!

I cut out with the flower with the Flower Flair Framelits and placed a piece of the designer paper behind it.  The button is from the Little Pieces Embosslit, so many cute embellishments. Finished off with the new Gold Satin Ribbon, to die for!  I think you can figure most of it out and here is the list of supplies I used to create it!  Super hugs now off to play with Jan and Linda!

Embellish Me!

Hello Stampers,

It's Border Buddy Saturday and it's Alison here!

Today I wanted to show you some fun ways to use the adorable Essential Wooden Elements on your cards.  This are so fun and you can stamp on them too!

This card was made by my friend Elaine Paget in Kamloops.  I love everything about this card - did you notice the coffee filter?  My favourite part is the arrow and the way Elaine stamped on it.  Creates a cool embellishment and texture too!

This vintage card (my favourite style) uses the Tap, Tap, Tap stamp set and those adorable Wooden Elements!

Throw Back Thursday - Friendships that last

Bev and Kayla

This weeks throw back Thursday is about friendships that last.  Last weekend I attended my childhood friend's, daughter's wedding.  We have been friends since the 4th grade.  I have also had the pleasure of watching her beautiful daughter Kayla grow up.  It was so much fun sharing the joy of planning the party favors for the wedding.

Wedding favor

Her wedding colors happened to be two of my favorite Stampin' Up! colors Soft Sky and Pink Pirouette. They made almost 400 of these cute table favors.  It was so much fun to hear the comments of wedding guests.  So many were impressed and thought it made the tables so warm and inviting and really showed they cared.

Her Mom Bev started stamping about the same time I did.  In fact the first year I became a demonstrator (1998) our hand made Christmas cards passed in the mail.  We were so excited to find out each other were stampers.

Bev has hosted a workshop almost every years for me since I started.  I am sure stamping has been a huge part of what has kept us connected.  As my Demonstrator friend Barbara Lash would say "It's much more than stamps"!

Scallop Tag Topper - Fun Fold Card with Flower Patch

Tag topper card 2

Monday I shared with you a card using the Scallop Tag Topper punch.  I promised you a video showing you how easy it is to make this fun fold card with this neat  opening.

I don't do anything that is too high techy, I like quick and easy hand stamped cards that look like I fussed.  And while this card takes a bit more time I would still categorize it as quick and easy.  You will for sure want to try it.  I had put off making one thinking it was too puttsy.

For the next few weeks I am going to share with you my new fav stamp set "Flower Patch Photopolymer and the coordinating framelit "Flower Flair".  OMG I know you may be thinking I have too many flower stamp sets already.  But what do you grab off the shelf most often? Yep I would guess 9 chances out of 10 it is a flower set.

Flower patch stamp set

Everyone needs something new to play with and this set has it all.  16 different shapes and 3 sentiments, a total of 19 stamps.

Stampin up cases

This year all the photopolymer stamp sets come in our amazing stamp cases just like our wood and clear mount stamps. I love the fact that I can see on the spline all the stamps that are included in the set.

If you are not able to view the video in your blog feed hop over to my blog and view it there... just click here.

What do you think of these three colors together?

This fun card I received in the mail from a fellow demonstrator, Patti MacLeith. I helped Patti with her blog she had and she sent me this beautiful card.  That is a huge perk with helping other demo's with their blog set up's and facelifts.

Petite Petals

I have not made one of these cards with the tag punch yet but plan to make one tomorrow and will do a quick How To video for my Wednesday post hopefully, so be sure and stop back Wednesday.

A few of the items used in this card are now retired.  Not sure, how I will live without the square lattice embossing folder - I think the Decorative Dots #133520 will take it's place for me.  Totally different but one of those all around good  backgrounds for most any card.

Color challenge

These three colors seem like unlikely trio, but they are really amazing together.  Patti did an great job putting them together.  Color challenges and template challenges are always a great way to start creating your own cards.  C.A.S.E (copy and share everything) is acceptable but once in a while it is exhilarating to create one of your very own.
