I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

Hello Stampers,

It's Border Buddy Saturday again and it's Alison here!

Who doesn't LOVE Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney in White Christmas?  Seriously it's a classic.  I LOVE this new stamp set in the Holiday Catalogue and it's called White Christmas!

WhitechristmasstampsetIt's a photopolymer stamp set with 13 stamps.  I love photopolymer (never thought I would) because they stick to the block like glue AND I can see right through them for easy placement.  And they are pliable so if you want to stretch or curve them you can for a different placement.

And it's a perfect stamp set for Dazzling Diamonds Glitter - it is now everywhere in my studio.  That's how you can tell it's time to make Christmas cards!

Isn't this card adorable?  I stamped it and then cut up the stamped piece into four equal pieces, mounted it on another piece so it looks like you are looking through a window pane.
Measurements - stamped piece is 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" (cut into four equal pieces so 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" each) and the piece it's mounted on is 4" x 4"

I belong to a monthly swap group and this gorgeous card is by my downline, Yvonne Jackson using the same set.  Stunning!

Yvonne used the White Christmas set with the All is Calm Speciality Designer Series
Paper (#135823) - don't you love the little cardinal on the branch of the tree?

If you are a customer of Patsy (US) or mine (Canada) you should have received your Holiday Catalog in the mail already.  If not you can ask us to mail you one or view the online copy here!

Are you excited to be making Christmas cards?  I am!  What's your favourite new stamp set or product from the catalogue?  Leave us a comment below.

Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set - A Little Kindness....

Kinda Eclectic

Today’s card came in the mail last week along with a wonderful gift from a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator friend Linda Bauwin.   Besides a wonderful business I have meet some of the most amazing women and developed friendships I would never have had without Stampin’ Up!

Love this card it uses the Kinda Eclectic stamp set.  This set is featured in our September Border Bundles, want to know more about Border Bundles click here.

Kinda eclectic stamp set

Do you ever buy a stamp set and think I love it and then find out you don’t know what to do with it.  This won’t be the case with this set you will be pulling it off the shelf often.  I have created a pinterest board just for Kinda Eclectic stamp set and already have almost 50 awesome samples to CASE (Copy And Share Everything). You won’t want to miss adding this stamp set to your collection.

Eclectic definition ...
deriving ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources.  The name of this stamp set pretty much says it all.  It has a little bit of this and a little bit of that and when put all together makes some amazing cards.

New Seasonally Scattered Stampin' Up! Stamp Set

Hello Stampers,

Border Buddies Saturday Patsy here...

Only 5 more days until you can place your orders from the Holiday Catalog. Customers who have received theirs in the mail are raving about it and telling me how long there wish list is.  I have to admit that my wish list is a bit longer than normal and I am sure as samples start popping up on Pinterest my wish list will explode!

Seasonally Scattered MERRY

This card was created using the Seasonally Scattered stamp set from the Holiday Catalog.  The card base is Lost Lagoon cardstock with a layer of All is Calm Specialty Designer Series Paper.  You have to see it to really appreciate it, which is so true of most designer papers.

MERRY Seasonally Scattered

Then I stamped the MERRY in Pear Pizazz classic ink on Whisper White Cardstock and cut it out with the largest framelit from Apothecary Accents and adhered to the front of the card with Dimensionals.

Then I stamped the sentiment from the Bright & Beautiful stamp set (also in the Holiday Catalog) on Lost Lagoon cardstock in Tuxedo Memento Ink and cut out just the sentiment.  I then punched each end with the Hexagon Punch to create the flag ends.

Finished it off with three sequins from the Gold Sequin trim.  Oops I forgot one sequin - it should really have three one just above the M and then it would be complete!

The Holiday Catalog will be online Thursday, August 28.  If you are interested in being a customers of ours and would like a hard copy be sure and contact us.

Step Up! Stampin' with Tap Tap Tap & Scraps!

Hello Stampers,

Time flies and it's Alison here for our Step Up Stampin' episode.  I wanted to show youhow you could take a card and step it up with some left over scraps you have laying around - and who doesn't have left over bits and bobs right?

The card is my starting point.  It's fairly straight forward with some Designer paper and a focal image stamped in one colour.  This card was one of the cards from our July Border Bundle class (remember if you place an online order with Patsy or I you receive an full colour PDF instruction sheet to make eight cards - purchase $50 or more and you receive two handmade cards from the set in the mail too!) Check out full details of the program here!

Stamps: Tap Tap Tap, Work of Art
Paper: Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack
Colours: Coasstal Cabana, Lost Lagoon, Basic Gray

When I was at Convention in July I received a gorgeous swap card from Sarah Cade and it reminded me of the card I had made for our July bundle.  What I loved most about Sarah's card was her use of scraps which stepped up the card in a very easy way!

Here is Sarah's card:

One last look at some Christmas favourites!

Hello Stampers,

It's time again for Border Buddy Saturday share and today it's Alison here!

I was just thinking about the upcoming Holiday Catalogue and how much I love making Christmas and holiday cards when I remembered that my favourites from last year will be gone forever on August 26th.  I wanted to share some of my favourites from last year so you had the opportunity to make sure you didn't miss out!

My absolute favourite from last year is the Festive Flurry stamp set and matching framelits.   And you might as well pick them up at the 15% discount when bundled together!

Here's a picture of me receiving my own stamp set right off the assembly line in Kanab, Utah while I attended Founder's Circle last year!

And here is one of my favourite cards using the set:

This card was sent to me by my friend Kristyne Brandt and I LOVE it.

One of the most popular stamp sets from last Holiday Catalogue was the Joyful Christmas which I used over and over again.  So elegant, especially when stamped on vellum.

And who said you have to use traditional colours on Christmas cards?  I love the blue for the poinsettia!

Another favourite is the Expression Thinlits Dies and they are offered in the Clearance Rack!  I mean - ON SALE!  Check out this card and other project made with these awesome dies.

Such a sweet and simple card using the Thinlit dies. Remember the Big Shot is on promotion this month too!

This was an ornament I made last year - I love how the "merry" thinlit looks on the star.

Isn't this little bag adorable?  The "banners" are folded over Washi Tape. So easy and clever!

Here is the complete  Holiday_Carryover List_ and accessories from last year - hurry and place your orderbefore August 26th to avoid the disappointment that will come when you realize they are no longer available.

Tap Tap Tap stamping, not dancing.

Tap tap tap stamping up birthday card

Tap Tap Tap is of the stamps sets we featured this month for our Border Bundles.   The row of black and white stripe, Calypso coral and crumb cake are down with the Epic This and That Washi Tap.   Washi tape adds a great touch to any card.

Notice the paper that looks typed in the typewrite?  Let me share how I created this card...

  • Crumb Cake 4 1/4" x 11" folded in half.
  • Then I adhered the Basic Black Mat 3 3/4" x 5".
  • I ran rows of the Epic Day This & That Washi Tap about an 1" from the bottom of Very Vanilla Cardstock 3 1/2" x 4 3/4".  Leaving the ends of the washi tape torn  and alternating the lengths.
  • I stamped the Typewriter just above the top row of washi tape in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
  • Then I stamped the Typewriter again on a piece of Typeset Designer Series Paper and cut out just the paper part of the image.
  • I then glued it using Two-Way glue, matching it up with the paper on the other stamped image.
  • I then removed three sequins from the Gold Sequin Trim and adhering them randomly with Two-Way Glue.

Adding that little piece of designer paper gives the look of the typewriting typing.  Everyone loved this touch.  I hope you enjoyed todays's card.  Just wanted to give you a heads up that I will be taking Wednesday and Thursday off from posting this week.  Join me back on Saturday for Border Buddies.
