Throw back Thursday is a fun, day I can be inspired by my past work. Sometimes I think have I posted this before, that is why I like Throwback Thursday, it is designed to repeat.
So here we go…
In April 2012 I posted this card…
This card used Greenhouse Garden stamp set (retired) which was a two step stamp. I love two step stamps they create great dimension. I just loved this set, I don't think there is a flower stamps set I haven't liked actually.
Sometimes when you can figure out what to stamp find a previous card you made and use it as your template. That is what I did here, I used the layout and similar colors to create today's card…
How I made this card…
The card base is Hello Honey cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" folded in half.
I stamped the lower half of the card with the Beautiful Bunch flower in Hello Honey Classic Ink.
I stamped "celebrate" from the Fabulous Four stamp set in Blackberry Bliss Classic Ink on the Very Vanilla (2" x 5 1/2") on the left hand side.
I then took a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock (5 1/2" x 3") and punched it with the Dotted Scalloped Ribbon Border Punch twice two creating two paper ribbon strips. I adhered one behind the Very Vanilla Cardstock and one on Top to the bottom edge.
I then adhered the Very Vanilla about 3/4" from the top with snail adhesive.
Then I stamped the same flower in Blackberry Bliss.
The Beatuiful Bunch also has a solid flower stamp which I inked in Hello Honey Ink and stamped off 2x's (meaning I stamped it on a scrap piece of paper before I stamped it over the Blackberry Bliss flower). Stamping off creates a lighter shade of ink.
I then punched out the flower with the Fun Flower Punch and adhere with dimensional to the lower right hand side of the Very Vanilla.
I tied a piece of Linen Thread through the ribbon into a bow and adhered to the center of the flower with a glue dot.
So while the template is the same and both use flowers and similar colors they create very different looking cards. Which is your favorite Right or Left? I would love for you to leave a comment and let me know which one you like best.

They’re both lovely Patsy, The one on the left would be nice in the current stamp set Stippled Blossoms. But having said that, I think I prefer the one on the right – seems more clean and simple somehow. TFS – I really like them both.

Hi Patsy: I like both the cards, but prefer the one on the right. Not as busy, and I like the lighter yellow honey)color.
Love your blog. I just finished watching a couple of your videos on “fold out” cards using the framelits dies. So simple, I could not believe how easy it looks. Going to have to try it, as 5 of my grandsons birthdays are coming up in the next few months. Also have a granddaughter graduating from College, so am thinking about a “congrats, or celebrate” card for her.
Thanks for sharing.
