Stampin' Up! Schoolhouse Designer Series Paper & Happy Birthday Everyone

It is a busy time of year one thing I look forward to fall and winter is having more time to stamp. While I get to stamp way more than the average person (since it is my job) over the summer I can get behind.  Living in Minnesota you have to enjoy the nice days as much as you can because they do not last that long.

It has been the perfect summer!!! Temps in the mid to upper 80's and evenings cooling down to the 60's.   We have only had a couple of severe thunderstorms with tornado's and it rarely has rained on the weekends. A perfect summer!

Schoolhouse Designer Paper and Happy Birthday Everyone stamp set #stampinup #birthdaycard

Today's card I made using the Stampin' Up! Schoolhouse Designer Series Paper.  This package of patterned paper is full of bright colors and fun prints.   The coordinating colors are some of my favorites Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Pacific Point, Pool Party and Tangerine Tango.

Stampin up schoolhouse patterned paper

I love the fact that our 12 x 12 Designer Papers are double sided so you get 2 sheets of 6 double sided designs for a total of 12 different patterns.

Speaking of Schoolhouses our two oldest Granddaughters will start school Tuesday in their new town they moved to this spring.  It is always a bit scary to move and make new friends but exciting t0o.  Besides that  - besides that they have a new baby brother due to arrive anyday.

Our youngest Granddaughter will start 1st grade and doesn't start till next week.  She lives right next door to us - we are excited she is going to spend her last week before school during the day with us.  Looking forward to some quality time together and maybe having fun stamping some Paper Pumpkin crafting kits.

I love having these stamping kits on hand for times just like this one.  If you have children or grandchildren Paper Pumpkin is the perfect thing to have on hand for rainy days or just a day when you want to do a fun project.

My grandkids love projects and usually when they come they say "can we do a project grandma?"  And I love that, it is just another opportunity for me to Stamp!

Click here to learn more about Paper Pumpkin and don't forget new subscriptions are 50% off until September 10.

I am excitied once this craziness of new grand baby and back to school is over I have some exciting Stamping Video's I want to do for you with a some fun fold cards.   What craziness do you have going on in the next few weeks?

  • Basic Gray
  • Daffodil Delight
  • Garden Green
  • Pacific Point
  • Pool Party
  • Tangerine Tango
  • Whisper White

Schoolhouse Designer Series Paper - cute little notes

Pair the paper with the Words of Truth stamp set to create some fun little notes to leave around for those special little someones!

Schoolhouse Designer Series Paper - cute little box

Or wrap a small gift with it!  The little tag features the Hot Diggity Dog stamp set.  Do you have some dog lovers you need to handstamp a card for?

Both the Hot Diggity Dog and Words of Truth come in Clear-Mount and Wood-Mount stamps.

"Our clear-mount stamps are made of the same high-quality red rubber as our wood-mount stamps, but they're repositionable. They're precut and ready to go. Temporarily mount these stamps on clear blocks for stamping, then remove them for space-saving storage.

You'll only need one set of blocks for all your clear-mount stamps (blocks sold separately). Our premium red rubber will last for years and give a superior stamped impression each time. The stamps come packaged in cases with images on the spine for easy storage and quick reference."

Sometimes I purchase the Wood-Mount and sometimes I purchase the Clear-Mount, it just depends on if I really need to see where I am going to stamp.  Like the little doggy you want to see where to stamp his/her head.

Here are the supplies I used to stamp the "Hope your Day is Wonderful" card.

Little Letters Framelits Creates a Great Use for Paper Scraps.

Hello Stampers,

It's Border Buddy Saturday! Alison here.

Stampin' Up! Little Letters Thinlits
This week sharing an adorable Birthday card because you can't have TOO many birthday cards on hand.

Paper strips for behind the little letters
This card uses little pieces of scrap left over pieces of Cherry on Top Designer Series patterned paper.  Just lay them down in rows to have them show through the cut out letters.

So no more throwing those little pieces of paper away, you never know when they will come in handy.

Place a few dimensionals on the cardstock that the letters are cut out of to give it some pop.

Bold Butterfly Framelits Stampin' Up!

Happy Birthday Card - You are the sprinkles on the cupcake of life

Sprinkles of Life & Bohemian Paper #sprinklesoflife #stampinup

This month I have shown you several different cards using the Bohemian Designer Series Paper.  The bold color combination of Stampin' Up!'s Rich Razzelberry, Bermuda Bay, Island Indigo and Delightful Dijon can make any card a WOW card.

Sprinkles of life stamp set #stampinup

Isn't this the cutest darn set you ever did see?  And it comes with a coordinating punch so very little fussy cutting!  It is one of the Photopolymer Stamp Sets by Stampin' Up!

The photopolymer stamps are top-quality and have just enough give to create a perfectly stamped image every time. They're entirely transparent so you can see exactly where you want to stamp. And talk about cling - these will not fall off you block - every (blocks sold separately). You have to pull hard to get them off when you are ready to put them back in the cool case they came in.  The stamps come packaged in cases with images on the spine for easy storage and quick reference.

Sprinkles of Life stamp set #stampinup #RMHC

I could easily punch out the frosting for this cupcake with the Tree Builder Punch.  I wanted to give this card a little bit of a "pop" color so I punched a flower out of Watermelon Wonder with the Itty Bitty Accent Punch and added a Basic Rhinestone for bling.

I hope you enjoyed today's card and remember when you purchase this stamp set $3.00 goes to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Stampin' Up! You've Got This Stamp Set

Cottage Greetings Congrats Card & Bohemian Paper

You've Got This has been a really popular stamp set among my customer's.  I think the fact that you can either color it or leave it plain and stamp on colored cardstock gives this stamp set great versatility.  We all want stamp sets that can provide unique and fresh look each time we stamp it.

Cottage Greetings Congrats Card & Bohemian Paper www.stampstodiefor-horz

You can see that just changing the color of the papers can change the look and feel of a card.

Cottage Greetings Congrats Stamp #stampinup

I love the font on the Congrats sentiment.  This stamp is from the Cottage Greetings which I wrote about a few weeks ago.   Again I punched out the banner ends with my new Banner Triple punch which I talked about last Thursday.  If you missed that post you will for sure want to check it out.

You've Got This Stamp Set #stampinup

This set comes in either Wood-Mount 139572 or Clear-Mount 139575

The blotchy background can be a great addition for many of your stamping projects.  Mixing and matching can give you so much more mileage out of your stamp sets.   Think about adding this stamp set to your collection if you don't already have it.

Stampin' Up!'s Bohemian Designer Paper & Watercolor Wings

Hello Stampers,

It's Border Buddies Saturday - Patsy here!

When I first saw the Bohemian paper I thought that is a bit bright.  I typically love bright colors but admit that the design along with the colors didn't catch my eye at first.  It wasn't until I started to play with it that I really begin to appreciate it's uniqueness.

Bohemian Paper and Watercolor Wings #Stamps To Die For

The Watercolor Wings and the Bold Butterfly Framelits can be paired with any color, design and style.  This would have to be my top pick for the 2015 Annual Catalog.

Bohemian Paper and Watercolor Wings #stampinup

I topped the butterfly off with one of the Pool Party buttons from the Subltes Designer Buttons.  Pool Party was not a color in the card but you can see it blends nicely.  We don't always have to use the exact same color - check out your other Stampin' Up! colors that coordinate.

The the Gold Baker's Twine pulls out the Delight Dijon in the card.

Banner Triple Punch #stampinup

Do you have trouble getting the perfect banner end?  Well Stampin' Up! has taken care of that problem for you with our New Triple Banner Punch.

Banner triple punch #stampinup samples

While the punch is set up perfectly for 1", 1 1/2" and 2" wide banners you can punch almost any width strip up paper up to 2".    Just slide it in and punch - you get a perfect banner end every time.

New Archival Basic Black and Basic Gray Ink Pad

Stampin Up Archival Basic Black Ink Pad and Watercoloring

Who would think a little thing like a black ink pad could get a room of 3,000 stampers excited.  At the 2015 Stampin' Up! convention they announced a New Basic Black ink pad and gave us all a free pad.  We always come home with so many free exciting things from convention.

We have been waiting a long time.  While you can your Staz-on it is sticky and a smaller pad.  Love the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad for stamping but it will bleed when you try to watercolor with it.

A Stampin Up Archival Basic Black Ink Pad and Watercoloring

The New Archival Basic Black Ink Pad is permanent making it the perfect choice for watercoloring.  I was excited to give it a try and share it with you.

I created a video using the new pad and the aqua painter to show you some fun watercoloring tips.  Click the video below or here to view it.

When can you get your hands on this pad?  September 1st when the new Holiday Catalog comes out.  Those of you who have placed orders through me should receive your copy of the Holiday Catalog towards the end of August.  The catalog will also be available online September 1.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day - Hope you find some time to stamp!

Blogging Tips: Perfect Pictures and Easy Videos with your I-phone

This is not my usual blog post with card ideas and photo's -  One of the hardest things about blogging is getting a good image.  I have many demonstrator's who follow my blog and I wanted to share with them some new tips I have learned making photo taking a snap!

Schoolhouse Designer Paper and Perfect Pennant Birthday Card #borderbuddies #stampinup

The photo booth I am going to share with you today has saved me hours of editing to get the right brightness and whiteness.  So many times you get a yellow cast to your photos.

The only editing I had to do to this photo was crop, resize and add my watermark.

I use to have the perfect place to take pictures ...

  • But I would have to put it up and take it down because the prefect spot for outdoor light was right where I stamp.
  • I could only take pictures on a good day with great outdoor lighting.
  • I had spot lights but they seem to always turn things yellow.

I wanted a spot where I could leave it up all the time - take good pictures rain or shine - daylight or midnight when I often want to snap pictures.  Does this sound like you?

So just a few days before the 2015 Stampin' Up! convention I created a tri-fold white board photo booth.

WM Trifold White Photo Booth for taking pictures of cards

What you will need to create your own... a 36"x48" tri-fold white project board.  My hubby cut it in half so it is 18" tall.

WM Photo Booth & Video Sides

On each side of the board we cut openings of  7" x 10" and I glued our Vellum Cardstock on the backside (you could also use parchment or tracing paper).

WM Lighting for the sides

I had the two lights I sometimes used before (these can be purchased at your local hardware store mine cost $6.67 each). I have two LED lights not sure what the size they  are but on the side of the bulb is says (LED11DAV3/850W 120 VAC 60 HZ 10.5W 100mA).  I went with LED as they do not get hot -  so there is no chance of fire - as I often forget to turn things off.

WM Photo Both & Video Booth for Iphone

I just clamped them each on one our kids building blocks that my Mom made  out of  2 x 4 that are about 6-8" long and placed one on each side.

WM Trifold White Photo Booth for taking pictures of cards

For taking Photo's I just placed a Bigz Die upside down on my cutting mat (this is just to cling to the fun foam to hold it in place) and then I set the white fun foam on it and run it up the back of the tri fold board to create the back drop for my photo.

When I am ready to shoot...

  • I turn the side lights on
  • Turn off the overhead lighting
  • And shoot my photo

My booth is set up in my basement so it can often times be totally dark when I am taking them.

WM Video Stand for Iphone to take Stamping Videos

The totally exciting part is while at Convention they showed us this awesome little set up for taking video's.  I came home and showed my husband the photo I took of it and he said I suppose you want me to make you one of those tonight - and I said Yep!   So off to Menards we went.

We purchased...

  • 10' of 3/4" PVC pipe
  • 3 Elbows
  • 2 T Connectors
  • 2 Caps (just for looks)
  • Package of screws size: 1/4" 20  x 1/2"

It was all under $10.00

WM Video Tripod for Iphone to fit over my photo booth

I was so excited as I knew it would fit nicely behind my tri-fold board.  I already had purchased the inexpensive little clamp for my iphone.

Here are the measurements for my stand. You may need to adjust it for where ever you are using yours.

  • The 2 side pieces were 12"
  • The back 2 pieces are 10"
  • The one going up in the back is 18"
  • The one that comes out for the camera is 6" (this will depend on your camera so you might need to play around with it. I have the Iphone 6.
  • You need 2 T connectors
  • 3 Elbows and 2 Caps

We did not glue them just pushed them together - so very easy assembly.

To get the little phone clamp he drilled a hole in the T-connector and then screwed a screw through it and into the i-phone clamp.  The screw size is a (1/4"  20  x 1/2") this size fits in all camera mounts.

Iphone Clamp

I purchased this little Iphone Clamp on Amazon for under $3.00 just go to Amazon and search Iphone Clamp you could also use a tablet, mini ipad or ipad to do videos.  I use to use my Ipad but my new Iphone 6 has a better camera than my older ipad.

I hope you found this helpful.

Now I have no excuses for not getting some new videos taken to share LOL  Have a great day.

Stop back Thursday to watch my first Video with my new Set-up and see some awesome news about a new product in the Holiday Catalog which starts September 1 2015.

Stampin' Up! Trust God Stamp Set

The past few weeks I have been sharing cards made using the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper.

Timeless Elegance Designer Paper

Timeless Elegance double sided paper featuring 12 different patterns.  So there is a pattern to create any design style you wish...  retro, vintage, traditional, simple, casual chic and many more.   Today I paired it with the Blackberry Bliss which is a very deep purple.

Trust God stamp set & Timeless Elegance Paper #trustgod #stampinup

The sentiment is from the Stampin' Up! stamp set "Trust God".  a very inspirational saying and loved the mixed fonts.  I stamped the sentiment & the flower (from Petite Petals) in Blackberry Bliss Classic Ink and punched the flowers out with the Petite Petals punch.  I just love when a stamp set has a punch to go with it, quick and easy and no fussy cutting!

Timeless Elegance Designer Card cute flowers #stampinup

I then placed them on the card using dimensionals to give some depth to the card.

Timeless elegance designer paper #timelesselegance #stampinup

The lace which gives this card a very vintage feel, is actually on of the designs from the Timeless Elegance.   I cut out the lace from the paper and just adhered it between the designer paper and Very Vanilla.   You could get a lot of black paper lace which would make snail mailing cards cost effective - no extra postage.

Here are the others cards I shared this month using Timeless Elegance Designer Paper...
