New Blog Design and Look!

I have been blogging since 2007.  In the beginning I played around more on the backside of my blog then creating posts and sharing ideas.  I would occasionally post a card or a fun Stampin' Up! event I was attending but that was the extent of it.   I spent countless hours figuring out how the blog worked - how it was made up and all the techy stuff that most demonstrators hate.

It wasn't until the fall of 2012 when I was asked to serve on the Advisory Board with Mary Fish, that I kicked it in gear.  Her sharing and encouragement meant a lot to me and  because of that I started doing videos, posting on a regular basis and my online business took off.

Blogsbypatsy Logo-Simple

Mary and I have also attended several Master Weekend's hosted by Lisa Pretto.  It was on one of those weekends that I confessed my true passion of blog set ups.  I had done several for my downline and other demo friends and the adrenaline just flows from start to finish.  And so www.blogsbypatsy.com was born.

Summer Banner-001

My original banner was created with My Digital Studio (MDS) a digital software that Stampin' Up! previously sold.   Diane Noble was a member of my Stampin' Up! team when MDS came out and she was also an amazing digital designer and illustrator.  Because her business was in direct competition with MDS she had to make the hard choice to drop her demonstratorship as Stampin' Up! had a non-compete clause. Even though we had never meet in person we remained friends.

When I decided to start my blog set up business I knew I would need a designer to create custom banners and buttons and she immediately popped into my head.  So for almost 2 years we have been creating and setting up blogs on Typepad and Blogger for Demonstrators across the country.

Since we no longer sell MDS I decided it was time to have Diane create my own brand.

A tree has always been my Icon and has a very sentimental meaning for me.

Click here to find out why the tree is so important to me.  You might want a tissue.

Thanks Diane, I LOVE my new look!

Diva & Dude Stamp and Share

Stampin up team meeting gifts

This last Saturday we had our quarterly Stamp and Share.  Demonstrators who live close enough join me for a fun day of sharing and stamping.  I also have Prize Patrol and awards for quarterly achievements.  This month I used the August Paper Pumpkin kit for some of my prize boxes and embellishments.

We share stamping ideas as well as business ideas and have a Shoebox swap which is everyone's favorite part I am sure.  Have you heard of a Shoebox Swap?  It is were everyone brings the supplies (ink, stamps,  pre-cut paper and embellishments) to make a particular number of 1 card.    Then everyone takes turn making each others cards.  So if you come with 10 pre-cut cards you go home with 10 different cards all ready to send.

There were lots of awesome card ideas and I hope to share a few with you throughout the coming months.  Here are the three I wanted to share today.

Sleigh Ride Edgelits Die #stampinup www.stampstodiefor.com

This card was provided by Diva Michelle Lembcke - I absolutely LOVE the Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies.  I love how she took the Spider Web Doilies and flipped it over to the back side to create a snowflake.

Christmas Greetings Thinlits Dies #stampinup www.stampstodiefor.com

No stamping on this card just punches and dies, isn't it so stinkin' cute!  This card was brought by Diva Deb Klaphake.  She used the Jolly from the Christmas Greetings Thinlits Die set.

Embellished Ornaments & Delicate Ornament Thinlits Die #stampinup www.stampstodiefor.com

This card was provided by Diva Julie Rutter.  She used the Woodland Textured Embossing folder to create a great back drop for this card.   And the ornament is cut with the Delicate Ornament Thinlits Die.  The greeting is from the Embellished Ornaments stamp set.  I featured both of these in Saturday's post.

We have so much fun stamping together.  While every Diva 0r Dude isn't able to attend we are able to share the stamped samples and answer any questions they might have on our Facebook Group.

Thanks again for stopping by and I look forward to sharing some more swaps with you later this month.  Have a great week!

Hello Stampers is Border Buddies Saturday

Embellished Ornaments Big Shot Delicate Ornament Thinlits Die

You can use the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine to easily cut shapes with an assortment of dies and add texture to you projects with embossing folders.  Almost every card or project I make includes something I have done on my Big Shot.  Monday I was sharing with you about my friend Rose who turns 92 this month... she still is stamping and using her Big Shot (or as she would call it "Her Big Boy" she bought not to many years ago.

As Rose has gotten older she has found that she can still make cards easily with her Big Shot.  This year her Christmas card are going to be Gold Foil paper embossed with the Big Shot and a simple greeting.  She makes and sends out about 80 cards isn't that inspiring.

Click here to read an older post with a picture of the two of us.

Stamping Fun with Grandchildren

Stamping is a hobby that is good for all ages.  My oldest stamping friend is in her 90's.  Last week I helped her plan her Christmas cards using her "Big Boy" that is what she calls her Big Shot.  It makes me chuckle every time she calls it that.

And your never to young, as soon as my grandchildren can hold a stamp we are stamping!  We are gaining a Granddaughter by marriage,  Hayley Jean.  She is a sweet, warm and lovable "almost" 12 year old.  Hayley and our Granddaughter Kitana helped me with my August Card Class at the Senior Living Center.

Hayley's Birthday Card Celebrate Today Stamp Set #stampinup www.stampstodiefor.com

We had to practice before we left so they would know the drill.  Each one of them stamped both cards.  This is Hayley's sample of the Birthday card stamped with the Celebrate Today Photopolymer Stamp Set.

Kitanas Card Flower Shop #stampinup.com www.stampstodiefor.com

Here is Kitana's Birthday Card she stamped with the Flower Shop stamp set and the greeting is from the Cottage Greetings set (which I just love!).

It was really a fun day and the residents loved having the girls help me.  In September they asked where are the girls, of course they were back in school. Next summer I will have to arrange to have them come all summer.

My cards for this class have to be fairly simple but they always love them and often times simple is best.  Have a great week, see you Thursday.

It's Beginning to Feel a Lot like Christmas!

Hello Stampers,

It's Border Buddy Saturday and it's Alison here today!

Is it beginning to feel a "little" like Christmas where you are today?  I'm in St. George, Utah at the annual Founder's Circle Retreat with 110 other demonstrators from across the US and Canada and it's about 35 degrees here (that's Celsius so about 95 Fahrenheit).  Well maybe not quite but with all the fabulous products in the Holiday Catalogue to choose from for all your holiday project my creative cave sure feels like the holidays.

I have lots of customers who are absolutely addicted to our wonderful kits.  Great instructions and just add ink and matching stamp set and you can whip up cards, tags and home decor items.

Haunt Ya Later Fun Fold Card

Haunt Ya Later Stamp Set #stampinup # funfoldcard www.stampstodiefor.com

It'a all about the fold for today's card.  Another one of those looked like you fused but you really didn't. I love quick and easy cards since time seems to be moving faster and faster.

Little Liam is already almost 3 weeks old and has gained almost a pound.  They change so fast at this stage.  This is the stamp set his two older sisters helped me pick out for Halloween.

Did you know over 19 Million people send cards for Halloween - that is a lot of stamps LOL.  Since all my grandchildren live close I usually stamp them up a fun treat.  But of course it is to early for me to have those done so stay tuned.

I though you would enjoy a video showing you how to make this card.  It is much easier for me to show you then explain it in writing sometimes.  You will enjoy a few of my blunders since I don't have time to edit it as this is hot off the presses.

If you are reading this via email click here to watch the video.

Zoo Babies and Bows

It's already been two weeks since little Liam Eugene was born for a total of 5 grandchildren (3 granddaughters and 2 grandsons).  He is absolutely perfect and has amazing dimples.  The pediatric nurse said she has not seen a infant with such pronounced dimples.

Babies picture

I could hardly wait to get up to the hospital to see him.  Did I tell you he is just perfect!

Monday all our grandchildren (and parents of course - except our Son who was representing the company he works for at the State Fair) were here for a Labor Day picnic.

Sue my childhood and stamping friend, I told you about last week, called and wanted to run over a baby gift for him.

Well she surprised me with a little gift too!

Gift Bow Bigs Die Bow Builder Punch www.stampstodiefor.com

A brag book and of course I can't wait to fill it with some photo's and Project Life.  And of course it was wrapped so cute and embellished with this great bow and tag.

Gift Bow Bigz Die

If you love bows as much as I do you will want to add the Gift Bow Bigz die to your Big Shot collection.  It makes two different size bows, Largest bow is just under 4" wide by 1 3/4" tall.

Bow Builder Punch www.stampstodiefor.com

She stamped this cute little tag with the elephant from the Zoo Babies stamp set and topped it off with a bow made with the Bow Builder Punch

Zoo babies stamp set stampin up www.stampstodiefor

This set comes in clear-mount or wood-mount.  The clear-mount stamps are made with the same high-quality red rubber as the wood-mount stamps.  The clear-mount you temporarily mount to clear blocks when stamping, then remove for easy storage.  You only need one set of blocks for all your stamping (blocks sold separately) but sometimes I like to have a couple of the most popular sizes.  The stamps come packaged in cases with images on the spine for easy storage and quick reference.

Nothing finishes off a little gift like handmade cards and tags!

Ten little fingesr 2

Ten Little Fingers...

Ten little toes

Ten Little Toes...

Two Little Ears and One Little Nose,

Two Little Eyes that shine so bright,

And one little mouth,

To kiss grandma, GOOD NIGHT!

Border Buddies Featured September Stamp Set Joyful Season

Hello Stampers,

It's Border Buddies Saturday, Patsy here.

Each month Alison and I have so much fun creating cards for Border Buddies Bundles PDF Tutorial.   We each pick a stamp set and create 4 cards using the stamp set.  Then we compile all 8 cards and create a Free PDF 8 page tutorial for our online shoppers featuring all 8 cards.  Click here to learn more.

This month Alison's stamp set was the Joyful Season Photopolymer Stamp Set that is featured on page 29 of the Holiday Catalog.  I thought I would stamp up a few extra samples and share them with you.

Joyful Season Circle Punch Cardinal

The patterned paper on these cards are part of the Season of Cheer Designer Series Paper

2015-09-09 23.30.09

This paper was created by actually hand stamping the original and then going through a process to reprint them.   Stampin' Up! has created a video to show us how this process is done and I thought you would enjoy seeing how this is done.  I found it fascinating.

Click Here to view video if you are reading this in an email.

It gives you an entirely new appreciation for the Handpainted paper.  Have a great rest of the weekend and hope you find time to stamp!
