Let your imagination run wild!

Sketches are open to interpretation.  You can create a card exactly using the sketch layout, using a square where there is a square, or you can change it to a be a circle, or oval or flower etc. You can also turn the sketch so if it is a vertical sketch you might want to turn it to be horizontal.

Stampin Up Merry Mice Stamp Set Christmas Card - no coloring - Merry Christmouse! www.stampstodiefor.com

The stamp set for this card is the Merry Mice stamp set from the Holiday Catalog on page 23.

Merry Mice Stamp Set by Stampin Up

The stamp set has...

  • three mice images
  • three sentiments
  • a cluster of stars stamp.

You can choose to water color the mice or as in my sample today - just stamp it on colored cardstock.

I also showed in a previous post how to do a unique paper piecing technique to add color.

I absolutely love the 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon Combo Pack (page 20 Holiday Catalog) with this great Cherry Cobbler ribbon.  Stampin' Up!'s taffeta ribbon has always been one of my favorites and I wish we had in every color.

The little scallop circles I cut out from the Layering Circle Framlits using the Big Shot, you get 16 dies in this set (8 scalloped and 8 plain).

The patterned paper is from Warmth & Christmas Designer Series Paper.

The color palette is Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Garden Green and Basic Black

I hope you enjoyed today's sketch and find the sketches to help inspire you in your next stamped card.

  • Here I stamped the little Deck the Halls mouse in Basic Black on a piece of Very Vanilla 2 3/4" x 3 3/4".
  • Then I re-inked him up and stamped the hat part on a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock and cut it out and glued it to the hat on the Very Vanilla.
  • I re-inked him again and stamped the scarf area on a piece of Garden Green cardstock and cut it out and glued it to the scarf on the Very Vanilla.

Just in CASE - Petite Petals Wedding Card

Its Thursday's Just in CASE Series.

Alison and I both CASE a card and share it each Thursday.  One of the fun parts for us is we don't know until you do which card each other has cased.

CASEing COPY AND SHARE EVERYTHING is when you pick out a card and either copy it exactly or change up the stamp set or colors or maybe even both,  but if you go too far you are then creating your very own card and just are inspired by the card or project you started to CASE.

The More you CASE the more you learn to be creative so there is nothing wrong with CASEing!

Just in CASE pg 86 Petite Pairs stamp set by Stampin Up www.stampstodiefor.com

This card is much prettier in person - sometimes the real depth and color can't be captured in a photo.

The stamp set is Petite Petals and it has a coordinating Petite Petals punch making it easy to create some fun bouquets.

Left: Stampin' Up!        Right: My CASE

Today's CASE is almost an exact CASE except for the colors.  I wanted mine to reflect a bit more of the fall colors so I used Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry and Tangerine Tango.

Zach and Alyssa's Wedding

Fall weddings are so beautiful and I love the wedding sentiment in the Better Together stamp set.

Better Together stamp set by stamping up

This stamp set is filled with sayings for almost any occasion you might need.  The best part it has a saying for the outside of the card and a saying for the inside.  Aren't inside sayings hard to come by?

Alyssa and Zachs Wedding K

This is one of our sweet granddaughters and while you can't tell by her face it was windy and COLD that day.  Her and our nephew the groom share the same birthday, so while years apart they are close at heart!

Cold Hands in Nome Alaska

Our neighbor's daughter whom we have watched grow up recently moved to Nome Alaska.  What and adventure!  I know her hands are getting cold.  The other morning as she headed to work she mentioned it was  26 degrees F.   Since her work is with Parks and Recreation she is often working out doors.

Stampin Up Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set & Punch, Eskimo Card, www.stampstodiefor.com
I thought I would send her a card with some news from home.  We do keep in touch via Facebook but nothing can replace a handstamped  card with a handwritten note in the mail when far away from home.

This is a very quick and cute card.  The card base is 4 1/4" x 11" Whisper White Thick cardstock.  If you haven't purchased this before you will LOVE it for all you card bases which are white.  It is the same weight as our colored cardstock so it gives it a nice sturdy feel.

I embossed the next layer of Whisper White  (4"  x  5 1/4") with the Softly Falling embossing folder using the Big Shot.

Cookie Cutter Christams stamp set by stampin up

The Eskimo is stamped in Early Espresso Classic Ink on Crumb Cake Cardstock and punched out with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.

The Igloo is cut out using the Layering Circles Framelits & Big Shot and then ran through the Big Shot using the Brick Wall Embossing Folder.

Cookie Cutter Christams stamp set by stampin up 2

Isn't it amazing how different the Santa, Moose and  Teddy Bear all look using the same punch.

This stamp set is Called Cookie Cutter Christmas but don't let the name fool you.   You can use it for so many different things.  If you missed it check out the Easter Bunny I made using the punch.

Cookie Cutter Bundle by Stampin' Up!

Don't forget if you buy the stamp set and punch together in the Bundle #140396 you save 10%!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget Thursday is Just in CASE you won't want to miss it!

While the Merry Mice stamp set is an outline stamp set many people think you have to color them.  I do love to color but not everyone does so I wanted to show you that you can simply stamp this image on colored paper and it looks very cool.

Father Christmas 2 www.stampcrazywithalison.ca

When you open the card you see that  Father Christmas has been stamped, coloured and cut out and popped up inside  so he peeks through the scallop oval opening on the front of the card.

Left: Stampin' Up! Card page 104 Right: My CASE

Today's card is and exact case and can be found on page 104 of the Stampin' Up! Annual catalog.  There are so many great stamping ideas in the catalog that it is not only a book of the products available to you, but also a great tool for inspiration.

My colors might be a bit different than the sample.  It is hard to tell as photography lighting can be so different from picture to picture.  And remember Stampin' Up! has professional photographers and cameras.

Just in Case 104 Suite Sayings stamp set by Stampin Up www.stampstodiefor.com 2

The sample in the catalog is to show case the sentiment from the Suite Sayings stamp set.  I love the variety of fonts used in this set and also how many occasions the sentiments cover.

Today's card is going to a very special person in my life our Daughter Danielle she turns 36 today.  She is the most amazing daughter, wife and mother to her 4 wonderful children.  Happy Birthday Sweetie!

Suite Sayings Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!

This stamp set was first featured last winter in the Occasions Catalog and I am so glad it came out in the Annual catalog with the great versatility of this set.

Flower Patch Stamp Set by Stampin Up

The flower stamp set used in the card is from Flower Patch stamp set on page 150.

Flower Fair Framelits by Stampin Up
It has a coordinating framelit called Flower Fair.  We all love the framelits and punches so there is no fussy cutting.  For this card I cut out the Flower and one of the leaves to give it a bit more dimension.

International Stampin' Up! Blog Hop

Today's is the day for a trip around the world!  It is the 3rd Tuesday which means it is Color Your World International Blog Hop.  Featuring amazing Top Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world sharing their hand stamped project using Stampin' Up! paper crafting products and a special color palette.

Today's Color Palette is...

Color Your World International Blog Hop September

We have the blessing of living on a lake and I never take it for granted.  Most often people think of sunsets, but something that is often not mentioned is Sunrises.

Sunrise over Lake Henry Minnesota

We have some of the most amazing sunrises and when I saw this one the other morning I thought of our color palette and it inspired me to create a sunrise card using the Lovely as a Tree stamp set.

Color Your World International Blog Hop Lovely as a Tree stamp set by Stampin' Up! 2

Of all the cards I send I am most grateful for a hand stamped card to send when someone passes.  It just seems more personal and filled with more love.  Our lives have been touched with more loss the past few years.  Maybe that is a sign of ageing.  Like a sunrise giving us a new day, death is also new day and is very bitter sweet.

Color Your World International Blog Hop Lovely as a Tree stamp set by Stampin' Up! 3

Brief Description:

I used four of the 5 colors in the palette today Elegant Eggplant, Peekaboo Peach, Perfect Plum and Pink Pirouette.

  • The card base is Elegant Eggplant paper (4 1/4" x 11" or you can make your base 5 1/2" x 8 1/2").
  • The mat is the Peekaboo Peach paper (3 3/4" x  5").
  • I stamped the row of trees & sentiment in Elegant Eggplant Classic Ink on a piece of (3 1/2" x 4 3/4") Very Vanilla Cardstock.
  • Then I sponged in this order from bottom to top: Pink Pirouette, Peekaboo Peach, Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant Classic Inks to create the sunrise.
  • Tied a Peekaboo Peach ruched ribbon between the trees and sentiment.
  • Then I attached three sequins I pulled off my string of Blushing Bride Sequins using glue dots.

Color Your World International Blog Hop Lovely as a Tree stamp set by Stampin' Up! 4

Final touch is I added some Wink of Stella to give the sunrise some glimmer.

  • The Christmas Tree is from the Peaceful Pines stamp set and the tree and star are cut out using the Perfect Pines Framelits.  I tucked a piece of Gold Glimmer Paper behind the tree to create Christmas bulbs.

Border Buddy Saturday - 12 Weeks of Christmas - Week 2

Hello Stampers,

Border Buddy Saturday, Patsy here and it is our 2nd week of the 12 weeks of Christmas.

Mice, while I don't want them residing in my house, I have always thought they were cute.  When I was engaged to Tom I purchase a little mouse and groom Christmas ornaments  and wanted to put them on my wedding cake.  My mom didn't think that was such a good idea since Tom's Mom was making the cake and my Mom didn't want to offend her.

After 40+ years of knowing my Mother-in-law (who by the way is the greatest, not only did I hit the jackpot for a husband I got a terrific MIL to boot) I know she would have thought it was cute.

I still have those little mice ornaments and hang them on the Christmas Tree every year and treasure them.  I will try to remember to take a picture when I decorate the tree this year and share them with you.  Well back to my real point...

When I saw this stamp set I KNEW I had to have it.  After all it is filled with the cutest little mice you ever did see.

Stampin Up Merry Mice Stamp Set Merry Christmas Card www.stampstodiefor.com

This little row of creatures all ready to decorate the tree is one of the three different mice stamps in the set.  I stamped these little guys with Stazon Black Ink.  Then I squeezed the lid of my ink pad, opened it up and took a blender pen and started to color, always leaving a touch of white for dimension.

The card base is Cherry Cobbler and the patterned paper is from This Christmas Specialty Paper in the Annual Stampin' Up! Catalog.  It is a little more light weight than our regular patterned paper so really great for making coordinating envelopes.  The little stars are cut out with the star from the Perfect Pines Framelits and Gold Glimmer Paper.

Stampin Up Merry Mice Stamp Set Christmas Card - no coloring www.stampstodiefor.com

Now I know you aren't always in the mood to color and you might think you need to, but you don't.  Simply stamp these fun mice on colored cardstock and you are good to go.

The bottom of the Crumb Cake paper is punched with the Confetti Star Border Punch and I tucked some Silver Glimmer Paper on the backside with it peeking through the front.

Stampin Up Merry Mice Stamp Set - Border Buddies FREE PDF Card Tutorial 2 www.stampstodiefor.com
