Little Cuties or Little Critters what do you think this stamp set should be called?

CASE = Copy And Share Everything

Each week I share a fun card I cased from on of the current Stampin' Up! catalogs.  This week I cased a card from the Sale-a-bration (SAB) catalog.  You only have today and tomorrow to earn your FREE exclusive SAB product.  You can pick from a variety of stamp set, designer paper, ribbons and more.

Isn't that little chick with the bad hair day cute?  Hopefully you can still earn the Hey Chick stamp set free and it isn't all gone!  He/she is one of 3 cut whimsical chickens in the set.

The cute little puppy on the right is from the Little Cuties stamp set, I also share a card using this sat last Saturday on our Border Buddy's post.  I often refer to this set as Little Critters so it may be confusing.  Sometimes I get a name in my head (wrong name) and just can't get it out.  So for the duration of the Occasions catalog this may be the Little Critters LOL.

Amazing Stampers on my Team

Avant Garden stamp set by Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com

My Diva & Dude Stampers Team are the most amazing stampers!

I received this card from Brenda Sprenger who is part of my team.  She is so kind to remember to send me cards of appreciation every now and then which I appreciate so much.    This card was part of a Swap we had with other Stampin' Up! demonstrators.

The stamp set for this card is the Sale-a-brations (SAB) Avant Garden stamp set.

There are only a few days left so...

Time ran out and I missed Sale-a-brations by Stampin' Up!

Designed by Freepik

Don't let this be you on April 1 - it won't be an April Fools Joke.  Sale-a-brations (SAB) will really be over!  Be sure and get the exclusive items today before they are gone forever.   SAB items are only whiles supplies last so some items could already be gone - don't wait!

Avant Garden stamp set by Stampin' Up!

This awesome card was created with some stamps, ink and the Stampin' Spritzer.  To achieve this great look you fill your Stampin' Spritzer with water and lightly spritz your watercolor paper.  Then ink up your stamp and very lightly spritz the stamp  and stamp your image onto the watercolor paper.

A little bit about this handstamped card...

  • The card base is 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Soft Suede Cardstock
  • Then a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" Watercolor Paper
  • The  cut out using the Big Shot and the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies (these are not in the catalog as they are a special release).
  • The Happy Birthday Wishes (from the Avant Garden stamp set) is stamped in Soft Suede ink
  • The embellishments are the Gold Metallic Thread and also the Gold Enamel Shapes.

Sunday Sketches SS028 - Card Sketch, Template or Recipe

No matter what you call it card sketch, template or recipe they really work.

When you make a card what takes the longest?  For many it is the design or layout that can be the most time consuming.  That is why I love a card sketch.  Many of us wouldn't dream of creating something in the kitchen without a recipe so why not have recipes for you hand stamped card making?

Sunday Sketches SS028 card sketch www.stampstodiefor-horz

Today's sketch is a simple one!  And just like cooking it doesn't have to be difficult to make to taste good, so it is with your cards.

Lovey as a Tree stamp set by Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com 5

Some Stamping Design Tips...

  • When creating a card often times it is good to have your elements create a visual triangle as shown above.
  • Using an odd number of elements instead of even is more pleasing to the eye.
  • Creating a main focal point on your card is important something that the eyes are first drawn to

Lovey as a Tree stamp set by Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com

I was at a stamping retreat recently and stamping this card, the person next to me said how did you get those blue streaks did you watercolor them.  I said nope it's a stamp, let me show you how.

The splash of color is from the Work of Art stamp set.  This is one of those must have accessory stamp sets to add color here and there randomly when you need it.   The trees are from the longest running Stampin' Up! stamp set Lovely as a Tree.  It has been around for almost the entire 18 years I have been a demonstrator.

Stamping Off Technique Steps Easy as 1 - 2 - 3 www.stampstodiefor.com

The Stamping Off Technique is super easy!

  1. Ink your Stamp as shown in the first photo
  2. Stamp your image as shown in the 2nd photo
  3. Stamp again without re-inking as shown in the 3rd photo
  4. Stamp again without re-inking as shown in the 4th photo.

The gray mat I am stamping on is called the Stampin' Pierce Mat.  Do you ever ink up your stamp and stamp to only find a half stamped image when you lift your stamp?  This mat could change your stamping experience forever especially if you use photopolymer stamps.  It helps you to achieve a great sharp stamped image.

Card Template Measurements:
  • Card Base: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
  • Mat: 2 3/4" x 4 3/4"
  • Whisper White: 2 1/2" x 4 1/2"

I hope I was able to share something new today or maybe just reminded you of this easy little stamping off technique that can give your card a little extra color.   Thanks so much for stopping by!

Love to hear from you if you have a question about stamping or would like to see a particular technique demonstrated please just click here to let me know.

Border Buddy Saturday - Little Cuties

It's Border Buddy Saturday and it's Alison here today! I'm sharing a cute card using the Little Cuties stamp set which is one of the sets Patsy and I have included in our Free Card program for March.

Little Cuties Border Buddy www.stampcrazywithalison.ca

This is a simple little card using our Note Cards & Envelopes which come in both Whisper White and Crumb Cake. The size is 5" x 3 1/2" and it's the perfect size for the images in the Little Cuties Stamp Set.  The stamps are photopolymer so it was easy to add the party hat to the top of the kitty's head.  I used our new Watercolor Pencils to colour in the images with a Blender Pen.

The images in this stamp set are perfect for lots of different occasions.

Add your colour around the edge of the the image and draw the colour in with your Blender Pen to create a watercolor effect.  Always add some colour below your image to anchor it.

This card is one of the cards featured in our Border Buddy's Tutorial.  You can earn free cards from both Alison and I for placing qualifying order.

Stamping Inspiration Made Easy

CASE = Copy And Share Everything

I love stampers, they are generous and love to share what they have been creating.  In the beginning everything I created was copied.  Now it is a huge compliment when someone copies my work, of course I appreciate when they mention who inspired them.  It is important when we CASE to give credit where credit is due.

I created the Just in CASE series to demonstrate how the Stampin' Up! catalogs are full of inspirational samples and ides.  As Stampin' Up! demonstrators we also get inspiration from an exclusive website just for Stampin' Up! demonstrators and every quarter Stampin' Up! sends out a  too.  And, if you become a SU Demonstrator you get a quarterly magazine called Stampin' Success full of more papercrafting ideas.

When you CASE you can copy the card exactly or change up the stamp set or colors or maybe even both,  but if you go too far you are then creating your very own card and just are inspired by the card or project you started to CASE.

Just in Case page 7 Occasions Catalog Big on Birthdays stamp set by Stampin' Up! Handstamped Birthday Card. www.stampstodiefor.com 7
Left: Stampin' Up! Concept Artist Card page 7 of the Occasions Catalog --- Right: My CASE

Stamping changes I made in my CASE'd card...

  • For my card I replaced the Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper (DSP) with a piece of Candle paper from the Party Animal DSP.
  • I replaced the stamped image from the Cake Crazy stamp set with one from the Big on Birthdays.  I embossed the greeting with White Embossing Powder just like the concept artist did.

  • I replaced the Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim with the Emerald Envy Rushed Ribbon

Just in Case page 7 Occasions Catalog Big on Birthdays stamp set by Stampin' Up! Handstamped Birthday Card. www.stampstodiefor.com

Do you feel guilty when you copy a card?  Don't it is a high form of compliment.  I wouldn't share them here with you if I didn't want you to CASE them.

Just in CASE Series pg 7 Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog www.stampstodiefor.com

I have embossed more in the last month than I have in the past couple of years.  It makes such an impression and is really very simple to do.  I think I mostly hated the mess of the powder but have learned it is easy to just wipe up the random misplaced powder with a baby wipe, problem solved.

Be sure to you your embossing buddy to wipe over your cardstock before you emboss so you don't get random flecks of embossing on your project.

Easy Embossing Steps...

  1. Run your Embossing Buddy over the cardstock to be embossed.
  2. Stamp image with Versa Mark Ink
  3. Power your powder over the stamped image.
  4. Tap off powder
  5. Heat image

Sunday's Sketch SS027 - Thinking of You Card

Sunday Sketches SS027 card sketch www.stampstodiefor-horz
Sunday Sketches - where does the time go, I can't believe we are already up to week 27 of the Sunday Sketches.   Card Sketches are a great way to begin creating your card.  I like a simple black and white sketch to get me started.  Then just pick your colors and stamp set and you are ready to go.

Sunday Sketches SS027 card sketch www.stampstodiefor.com

This is a very simple card sketch for creating a clean and simple card.   Just because they are simple to make doesn't mean they can't leave a lasting impression.

Measurements:

  • Card Base:  Soft Sky - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
  • Mat: Dapper Denim - 2 1/2" x 3 1/2"
  • Whisper White: 2 1/4" x 3 1/4"

Penned and Painted stamp set by stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com

I absolutely love the Penned and Painted stamp set from the Annual Catalog.  It is a two step stamp which makes for amazing results.

  • Here I stamped the outline across the card front in Dapper Denim ink.
  • For the stamped image on the Whisper White I stamped the outline of the flower petals in Dapper Denim ink and the sold part in Soft Sky ink.
  • The leaves outline is Garden Green ink and the center is Mint Macaron ink.

The ribbon is the in-color Rushed Dapper Denim ribbon.  I love how many of our coordinating embellishments give our cards a professional looking touch.

The "Thinking of You" is from the Window Shopping stamp set. I honestly can't tell you what Stampin' Up! was thinking when they gave it this name - can't find the correlation.   But you know me I sometimes (by accident) end up calling stamp sets by another name than their given name.

Birthday Cards, Easter Treats and Many Occasions In Between

Hello Stampers,

It's Border Buddy Saturday today, Patsy here...

Border Buddies Little Cuties Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!

With growing number of grandchildren in a variety of ages I am always in need of some fun stamp sets to use for smaller folks.   The Little Cuties stamp set is perfect for many occasions not just birthdays.

The rocking horse is stamped with two different stamps, so you can use the horse all by itself or make him/her a rocking horse.  There is also a lamb in the set you can make into a rocking lamb.  Because these come in photopolymer it is easy to line the stamps up as you are able to see through them.

Easter 2

Easter has always been a special time for our family as we enjoy Easter Egg hunts.  It isn't every year that we can enjoy hiding the eggs and treats outdoors in Minnesota - but when we can it is extra special.

Easter

Just a few years ago we only had two little cuties hunting for eggs.  Now we have 6, well it might be another year before Fallon is able to go out and find her own eggs.

Little Cuties Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com

I was excited when this stamp set had a stamp that said "celebrate Easter" as I like to make fun little treat holders and will be able to use this stamp to make some fun tags.

What are some special Easter traditions your family celebrates?  Click Here to share.

Lift Me Up

Just in CASE Series pg 82 Stampin' Up! Annual catalog Lift me Up stamp set www.stampstodiefor.com

Today's Just in CASE handstamped Birthday Card

Ever have one of those days, weeks or months?  Last week I took a tumble down several stairs in the dark and landed on my left arm.  Do you know how difficult it is to stamp with one arm?   Not only is it my livelihood but also my passion.  I am glad I had a bunch of cards all stamped and ready to share with you.

Stampin' Up! Stamp Set used today

The stamp set "Lift Me Up" made me think of how wonderful it is when one is down to have amazing family and friends to lift you up.  I am not good at asking for help so it is awesome when someone just knows what to do.  I have voice recognition on my computer so that has helped a great deal as typing with one hand just doesn't work too good.

Enough about that - do you know someone who could use a lift - stamp them up a card and mail it out - brighten their day!
