Welcome to Sunday Sketches SSO34 by Stamps to Die For.
Each Sunday I post a card sketch along with a card I created using the sketch. Sketches often help get my creativity fired up.
Card Sketch Measurements:
- Card Base: 4 1/4" x 11" (scored at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2")
- Mat: 3 1/4" x 4"
- Cardstock: 3" x 3 3/4"
Let your imagination run wild!
Sketches are open to interpretation. You can create a card exactly using the sketch layout, using a square where there is a square, or you can change it to a be a circle, or oval or flower etc. You can also turn the sketch so if it is a vertical sketch you might want to turn it to be horizontal.
This card has a little bit of a fun fold. I cut the Whisper White Thick cardstock 4 1/4" x 11" and then scored it at 2 3/4" & 5 1/2". Then I folded it in half to create the card base and then I folded the card front back at the 2 3/4" score mark to create the fun fold.
The polka dot paper is from the Naturals Designer Series Paper Stack which has already sold out – but why not try the Pop Of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper #141648 Price: $13.00 now on sale for $7.80
The Wishing You… greeting is from the Big on Birthday stamp set which is in the Occasions Catalog and is getting carried over into the New 2017-2018 Annual Stampin' Up! Catalog that is coming out June 1. I stamped the greeting in Basic Black, the bow in Bermuda Bay Ink. Matted the stamped piece of cardstock with Bermuda Bay cardstock. I finished off the bow with a new item coming out in June Faceted Gems – they will be in clear and gold. It is difficult to capture the true sparkle these provide.

How do you get the card to stand up?

I use a bone folder on the folds to make them good and crisp and you just pull the front flap out a bit and it should stand up (might depend on how heavy your embellishments are.)
