Can you have too many sentiment stamps?
I originally purchased the Perennial Birthday stamp set because I thought the sentiments were a good addition to my stamping collection. It has two different sizes of "HAPPY BIRTHDAY", today's card features the smaller one.
Today is not officially a CASE day, but I did CASE this card from on the Stampin' Up! concept artists created. The card pictured here is not in any of the catalogs but came out in another publication.
It is an exact case except for the colors. I had run out of the Berry Burst Metalic-Edge Ribbon so need to substitute the ribbon but wanted the metallic edge look. So I placed the Calypso Coral Ombre 1/4" ribbon over the 3/8" Metallic-Edge Verry Vanilla ribbon. I like how it turned out.
I have shared before that top-fold cards are easier to get a better picture for my blog, but most people prefer a side open card. In this instance rapping the ribbon around a side fold card would have been easier. Sometimes it just doesn't work out that way so I am going to share how I did the ribbon.
I sponged the colors on the flowers with our sponge daubers and easy way to get quick color.
I made a 3/8" slit in the crease of my card with an Exacto knife and then slide my ribbons through and tied them.
It is a beautiful card in either color and it might be fun to try it in more colors depending on the season. I always think of our Subtle colors for Spring, Brights for Summer, Regals for Fall and Winter a mixture of some of each.
