Picture step by step directions for Funfold Trifold Shutter Card

Just in CASE - Happy Celebration stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Hand Stamped - Happy Celebrations Stamp Set & Celebrations Duo Embossing Folders by Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com Just in CASE Series
Left: Stampin' Up! Card page 34 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! Catalog ~ Right: My CASE

Each week Alison (My Border Buddy) and I CASE a card from the catalog.  CASE is when you copy a card almost exactly or you might change up the colors or even the stamp set.  If you go to far you didn't CASE the card but was inspired by the card.

I often hear I am not creative - you don't have to be creative to enjoy and love stamping.  And with time it can help you become creative.  When I first became a demonstrator and for many years I CASEd everything for my classes and workshops.

It was many years later when I was sharing online that I thought I need to create some of my own cards.  So I would pick out a card and change up the colors and stamp set to create my own card.  After awhile I was able to stamp my own creations and it felt amazing.

So if you don't feel creative just start to CASE!

Happy Birthday Gorgeous Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!

Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set by Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com 3

Balloons are always a great image to use when creating a hand stamped Birthday Card.  I don't know anyone who doesn't appreciate a hand stamped card.

Often times I get so busy making cards I forget to send them.  That was one of my new years resolutions but I am still not doing as well as I like to getting cards in the mail.  I use to say I only needed on birthday stamp and that was Happy Belated LOL.

Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set by Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com 2
Everything I share with you on my blog are made exclusively with Stampin' Up! Products.  All the images stamped on this card are from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set.

  • The Lemon Lime Twist patterned paper (2" x 5 1/2") is from the Eastern Palace Designer Series Paper.  I attached it to my Pool Party card base (5 1/2" x 8 1/2").
  • I stamped the balloons and punched them out with the making Balloon Bouquet Punch.  I love when stamp sets have matching punches or dies.  Makes it easy peasy and no fussy cutting which I am not the best at.
  • I stamped the two outline balloons, one on Mellon Mambo and the other on Bermuda Bay cardstock.  The Hooray Balloon I stamped on Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock.
  • All three balloon strings are stamped in Tuxedo Black onto Whisper White Cardstock (2 3/4" x 4").  I matted the Whisper White cardstock with a piece of Basic Black Cardstock.  With dimenisonals I  attached the Basic Black to the cardfront.

Memento in at stampin up

I like to use the Memento Tuxedo Black with my photopolmer, just personal preference as I feel it cleans off the stamp better.

Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set by Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com

For a little extra wow factor I added a banner of Silver Glimmer Paper (1/2" x 3").

Stamped the label frame in Tuxedo Black Ink on a scrap piece of Powder Pink cardstock and stamped "happy birthday" in the center and punched out with the coordinating Classic Label Punch and attached to the glimmer paper with dimensionals.

Sunday Sketches SS042 - Happy Celebrations stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Sunday Sketches card sketch SS042

What will you be celebrating this month?  July is a quiet month for Birthday's at our house, but one can never have to my Birthday cards on hand.

Sunday Sketches Series SS042 Happy Celebrations stamp set by Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor-horz

Each Sunday I create a card sketch along with a card using the sketch to share with you.  Sketches or sometimes called templates help me get a start when I am stamping a card.

Happy Celebrations Stamp Set & Celebrations Duo Embossing Folders by Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com

A really fun stamp set for celebrations is the Happy Celebrations stamp set with it's coordinating Celebrations Duo embossing folders.  I choose the Eastern Palace Designer Series Paper for the background.  It has my favorite new color Lemon Lime Twist along with Dapper Denim.

Happy Celebrations Stamp Set & Celebrations Duo Embossing Folders by Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com 3

Here I embossed or should I say debossed, the celebrate and then stamped the splatter stamp in Lemon Lime Twist over the top.  It is fun how the celebrate really pops once you stamp over it.    I added a couple of the new fun Glitter Enamel Dots.  I really like these for embellishing as they are fairly flat for easier mailing.

Happy Celebrations Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com a6

For the inside of the card I stamped the outline "HAPPY" in Dapper Denim Classic Ink and then stamped the solid "HAPPY" inside in Lemon Lime Twist Classic Ink.  This stamp set is the clear photopolymer making it so easy to line up.

Creative Bird Bath using Swirly Bird Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!

Bird Bath - Swirly Bird stamp set and Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies by Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com 2

I could hardly wait to share this card with you.

The shapes are from the Swirly Bird Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!  When I first saw this set it was overwhelming to me because it is full of shapes and typically I don't know what to do with them.

I was so excited when I saw a bird bath out of the shapes.  Maybe it is because for years I have wanted a bird bath but haven't gotten one what ever the reason I was so pleased when I saw it and could hardly wait to stamp up a card.

Bird Bath - Swirly Bird stamp set and Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies by Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com

The pattern paper is from the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper and has most of my favorite colors in it.

  • Dafoodil Delight
  • Night of Navy
  • Old Olive

The Happy Birthday Gorgeous Stamp Set is filled with some awesome sentiments.  The Happy Birthday I used is one of them, LOVE the font.

Sometimes when I decided to stamp I get stuck and this card template is one I can always fall back on when I don't know what to do.  It is a simple style but it seems no matter what I am stamping it works.  Give it a try sometime.

Card Measurements:

  • Cardbase: Top-Fold 4 1/4" x 11"  Side-Fold 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
  • Night of Navy piece:  3 1/2" x 4 1/4"
  • Designer Paper: 2" x 4 1/4"
  • Whisper White piece: 2 1/4" x 3 1/2"

Do you get stuck with colors or style when creating a card?

Bright & Bold - Happy Celebrations by Stampin' Up!

Happy Celebrations Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com 6

Bright and bold colors are often times my favorite.  When I first became a Stampin' Up! Customer in 1996 I purchased colors in the Bold Brights family.  That is still often times the inks I use the most.  What is your favorite Stampin' Up! color family?

Today's card features one of the new In-Colors called Berry Burst which certainly fits into my bold and bright love!

The stamp set I used is the Happy Celebrations stamp set so while it is not a "new" set, since it was featured in the 2017 Occasions Catalog it is new to me.  I have had a lot of fun playing with it this past week.

Happy Celebrations Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com 3
Colors from left to right on the card are...

Berry Burst, Bermuda Bay, Delightful Daffodil, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive!  It also features the new In-Color Berry Burst 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon.

I love this new ribbon it is so soft and easy to tie.  It comes in all the new 2017-2019 In-Colors.

Happy Belated Birthdays are Great!

Sue (the person I sign up to be a Stampin' Up! demonstrator 19 years ago) and I have celebrated many birthday's together.  Our father's were business partners and so we have know each other our entire lives.  The last few years it seems we end up celebrating each other's birthdays late, but that's okay it is like having another birthday.

While Sue has continued to stamp she is no longer a demonstrator - but has joined under me a couple of times over the years.  When her wish list is long I remind her she can always join and enjoy the awesome discount.

Fun Fold Hand Stamped Card

Touches of Texture stamp set by Stampin' Up! fun fold card www.stampstodiefor.com

She stamped this Pop Out Window Fun Fold Card for me using the Touches of Texture stamp set.  She stamped it in my favorite color Calypso Coral.  Isn't it Beautiful!!!!

Touches of Texture stamp set by Stampin' Up! fun fold card www.stampstodiefor.com 3
You can make the window round or square.  Your cutout on the front of the card just needs to be a bit larger than the one you will attach to pop out.

Here you can see how when you open it up there is an accordion inside which makes it stand up nicely to display on a shelf.

Quick and Easy Cards

Each month I stamp with residents at a local senior living center.  The skill of the residents varies a great deal from able to stamp to some that have difficulty holding the stamps.  Each month I try to find quick and easy cards that they can do easily enough but look awesome too.

Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com

The residents love to color and this month I thought it would be fun for them to try out the new Watercolor Pencils.  I used the retired Sale-a-brations paper Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper (2 1/2" x 4") for one of this month's cards.  Some colored the entire front while some highlighted just like I did in my sample.   Once they had it colored we used the Blender Pens to blend the color they thought it was amazing.

Stampin' Up! Note Cards

I love the Whisper White Note Cards for easy cards no prep cutting all ready to go.  The new catalog features a similar black and white designer paper called Just Add Color for those who love to color.  If you have placed an order with me in the past year your catalog should be arriving mid to end of May.  You can start to order June 1 at Noon from the 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! Catalog.

Butterfly Basics by Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com

The second card we made I CASED from fellow demonstrator Jackie Bolhuis.  I pre-cut the butter fly using The Big Shot and the Butterfly Thinlits .  I pre-tied the baker's twine through the button for them ahead of time.  I inked the stamps for them making easier for them to stamp them and since it was a bit random they were able to stamp them successfully.

This was a wow card but very easy for them to stamp and they felt so proud of their completed cards.

Nelson Gables Stamp Day

They always look forward to me coming and I am filled with so much Joy when I leave.  While I have no sales and no "real" customers it is one of my favorite events that I do each month.

The Stampin'  Up! mission statement is...

To LOVE what we do

and SHARE what we love

as we help others ENJOY creativity

& worth while accomplishments

In this we make a difference.

On my stamping day with them I truly feel like I make a difference.

Border Buddy Saturday - Little Cuties

It's Border Buddy Saturday and it's Alison here today! I'm sharing a cute card using the Little Cuties stamp set which is one of the sets Patsy and I have included in our Free Card program for March.

Little Cuties Border Buddy www.stampcrazywithalison.ca

This is a simple little card using our Note Cards & Envelopes which come in both Whisper White and Crumb Cake. The size is 5" x 3 1/2" and it's the perfect size for the images in the Little Cuties Stamp Set.  The stamps are photopolymer so it was easy to add the party hat to the top of the kitty's head.  I used our new Watercolor Pencils to colour in the images with a Blender Pen.

The images in this stamp set are perfect for lots of different occasions.

Border Buddy Little Cuties www.stampcrazywithalison.ca

Add your colour around the edge of the the image and draw the colour in with your Blender Pen to create a watercolor effect.  Always add some colour below your image to anchor it.

This card is one of the cards featured in our Border Buddy's Tutorial.  You can earn free cards from both Alison and I for placing qualifying order.
