It's Border Buddy Saturday,
Patsy here and today I am going to share with you the Stampin' Up! Jar of Haunts Photopolymer Stamp Set and Everyday Jar Framelits.
For the cardbase I used Whisper White Thick Cardstock if you haven't given this cardstock a try you should. It creates such a nice and sturdy base for your card, while having the same smooth surface of regular Whisper White.
The patterned paper is from the Halloween Night Specialty Designer Series Paper found in the Holiday Catalog. You can't tell from the photo but the spider web is a shinny silver.
I stamped the image with Tuxedo Black Memento Pad on Shimmery White Paper and then water colored with Old Olive Classic Ink and an Aqua Painter. The eyeballs in this stamp set reminded me of an event I did in 2011 for my 500 Club Members.
It was a Halloween theme and everyone came in costume. Our granddaughter Kitana on the left, then Betty Bengtson, Cindy Domek & me. Betty and Cindy were awarded the Top Hostess award for top sales at their workshops.
Our daughter is so creative and one of her favorite places to create is in the kitchen. So she would often do the fun food for my events and this one was a real hit! See the plate of Eyeballs, don't they remind you of the eyeballs in the jar? The brain is a watermelon.
Mummy Hot Dogs, White Chocolate Covered Ghost Strawberries, and mouth full of teeth made with apples and slivered almonds and the sugar cookie witch fingers with almond nails.
In the United States did you know...
Halloween falls into the top 6 for sending holiday cards?
Here's how all of your favorite holidays stack up when it comes to sending greeting cards, according to the Greeting Card Association:
- Mother's Day
- Father's Day
Over 17 Million cards are purchased in the US for Halloween and it is the 3rd most popular party day with only New Years and Super Bowl Sunday topping it.
For my Canadian friends...
According to Carlton Cards here are the top 5 holiday for sending cards.
- Mother's Day
- Father's Day
I couldn't find any stats beyond the top 5. More than 600 million cards are exchanged each year in Canada which means on average each person exchanges about 17+ greeting cards each year.
The important things is...
Do you enjoy getting a card?
Do you send cards to people you care about to make a difference in their life?
I challenge you to sit down this week and make a list of 3 people you want to send a card. Then get out your stamps and stamp up a card and get it in the mail.
Make someone's day!
