Retired or Deceased Stamp Sets?

I had to laugh the other night, after my customers were finished making the cards at one of my workshops, one of them asked if I had the Deceased list.  It took me a few minutes to realize she was asking for the list of retiring stamp sets and accessories.   While I did laugh, it is true, we are losing some of our favorite special stamp sets. On of my favorites stamp sets that I will miss greatly is Just Believe.    

Here is one of the cards we made at the workshop, I think everyone that attended workshops this month purchased this set if they didn't already own it.  You only have until May 31 to purchase this set.   

 

Here is the other card we made using the set.  Love this little vase using the oval punch and cutting the bottom off flat and then the top at an angle - added the little cross stitch through the center of the vase with the with one of the Needlepoint Embossing folders from the Occasions Mini Catalog.

 

Just wanting to let you know that the Technique How To (is on vacation for two weeks and will be back the week of the 28).  When we returned from the amazing Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip to Fiji two weeks ago I developed some Vertigo from the long plane flight and with the end of the catalog year it has set me back a bit, but will catch up soon.

Sneak Peek, soon to be released Stampin' Up! Wildflower Meadow Stamp Set & Embossing Folder

Yesterday I shared the Framed Art and 12 x 12 page along with several cards that we made at my Diva & Dudes Stampers event.  Here is another card we made using the Wildflower Meadow Stamp and the coordinating Embossing Folder.   

I embossed the card base with the Wildflower Meadow Embossing Folder.  For the stamped image I used Melon Mambo Stampin' Write Marker to color the stamp along with Old Olive.  Then I stamped the Enjoy (Fabulous Phrases) in Night of Navy on Daffodil Delight Cardstock and punched it out with one of my all time favorite punches Jewel Tag Punch.  

The Jewel Tag Punch is perfect for any card or project where you need just a little something extra. This punch is on the retirement list and is only available while supplies last. Finishing touches using the Basic Jewel Pearls and the mini silver brad on the tag. 

On this card I used the Wildflower Meadow Stamp set and Embossing folder together.  I stamped the Wildflower and then placed the folder over the stamped image and ran it through my Big Shot to give the stamped image a 3D effect, VERY COOL!  What do you think of this great new combo?

Secret Garden Birthday Card and Papercraft Album

Ever wonder how I got into stamping.  It was about 16 years ago when I attended a Stampin' Up! party and the demonstrator was my childhood friend.  Can any of you identify, that you never thought you would be a stamper? Well that was me!  And if you would  have told me that I would quit my "real" job as an optician to sell stamps, I would have laughed for an entire day maybe a week!  

I joined Stampin' Up! under my dear friend Sue Nelson and we have shared my childhood memories and birthdays together.  And we are lucky enough to still be celebrating together.  On my birthday Sue took me to lunch, gave me a Stampin' Up! gift certificate and also this beautiful card and paper album she made. Life just doesn't get much better than that.

Stampin' Up! Retiring Stamps and Products

It is that time a year again when we have to say good-bye to make room for the new.  I am excited about some of the exciting new products, but you will have an entire year to fill your wish list of new products.   BUT you don't have too long to get the Stampin' Up! products that are retiring.  While you are able to get Stamp Sets until the end of May, accessories are ONLY while supplies last.  So don't delay.

This card I created using the soon to retire "You Are Loved Stampin' Up! Stamp Set 123777 (wood) 123779 (clear).   The Midnight Muse Cardstock, Ink and Ribbon will still be with us for another year along with the Summer Starfruit that I used to Mat the flowers.   The designer series paper Comfort Cafe was one of my favorites this year, I wonder what will come out that I love as much as this one.  But it does amaze me that even after 15 years ever year Stampin' Up! out does the year before.
