Just in CASE - Falling Flowers Stamp Set

BB JUST IN CASE

Okay, what was I thinking when I decided to CASE this card.   While it was a blast to make the PDF Tutorial Directions were a nightmare LOL.

This really was fun to make all the layers and sponging.

Years ago when I first became a demonstrator I had a Mom and 4 daughters who all stamped.   They actually had been stamping way longer than me.

When they hosted a workshop I was always trying to think of amazing things to show them.  For one of their workshops I came up with three amazing techniques (can't remember what they were as it is 18+ years ago)

As I was sponging the edge of the card they asked: "what are you doing"?

Sponging Stamping Technique www.stampstodiefor.com

I hesitantly said, "sponging the card".  They were so amazed and excited.   I thought WHAT? I spent hours preparing the other techniques and they were impressed with sponging? Yes, there were and I think of them all every time I sponge a card.

Happy to say the youngest daughter Amanda has been a demonstrator on my team for several years now.

Color Your World International Blog Hop - Garden in Blooms

International Stampin' Up! Blog Hop

It’s my favorite time of the month...
Color Your World International Blog Hop!

This month we have some rich colors to play with.  Here in the USA, we are getting ready for Fall, cooler weather and where I live in Minnesota it means the end of colorful flowers and preparing for cold and snow.

Color Your World International Blog Hop Color Challenge September 2017

This palette is so rich and I hope you will play along with the color challenge this month.  I love to challenge myself and always try to use all the colors in the palette.

I chose the Garden in Bloom Stamp Set for today's color challenge.

I wanted to hold onto summer a bit longer and I love the effect this stamp set gives with it's subtle stamped image.

I used some of the Crinkled Seam Binding in the Berry Burst to finish off the card.  I love this ribbon as it is soft, thin, easy to work with and it lays pretty flat for mailing.

Bringing in Fall in Style

Hello Stampers,

It's Border Buddy Saturday, Patsy Here.   I am so grateful for Alison who is my border buddy.  We each create 4 different cards using a particular suite from the Stampin' Up! Catalogs.   This month's suite is the Painted Autumn suite on pages 48-49 of the 2017 Holiday Catalog.  Bold watercolored images in beautiful autumn colors are what the Painted Autumn Stampin' Up!  suite is all about.

Painted Harvest stamp set & Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper by Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com z

The stamp set that is part of this suite is the Painted Harvest.  It has flowers, leaves, acorn and some great sentiments.  It is a Two-Step stamp set and the wonderful part about two-stop is the incredible dimension you can get.

The sunflower is Crushed Curry Classic Ink with Pumpkin Pie for the detail and Early Espresso for the center.  The leaves were stamped in Garden Green Classic Ink and punched out with the coordinating Leaf Punch.  The stamp set and punch are part of the Painted Harvest Bundle.  You save 10% when you bundle.

Just in CASE - Vintage Leaves getting ready for fall

BB JUST IN CASE

Each Thursday Alison and I CASE a card out of one of the current Stampin' Up! Catalogs.  This week I CASED a card from page 124 of the Annual Catalog.

Just in CASE Vintage Leaves stamp set Leaflets Framelits by Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com 2
Left: Stampin' Up! card page 124 ~ Right: My CASE

Both cards used the Vintage Leaves stamp set and coordinating Leaflets Framelits Die.

  • I changed up the card base and used Very Vanilla for mine - SU used Whisper White.
  • Rather than stamping the leaf multiple times on different colored papers I used paper from the Autumn Leaves Designer Series Paper.
  • My card features Buick Wall Embossing Folder - SU used Embossing Paste.
  • I used a die from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits set and gold foil paper - SU used silver foil paper and a die from the Lovely Words Thinlits set.

I am pleased with how the card turned out.  It looks so elegant and special and yet it was fairly easy to make.  You all know me clean and simple - quick and easy and not too much fuss is my stamping mo.

Remember that when you Join my Newsletter List you receive my weekly Just In Case instructions for free on Friday! This week they will receive complete directions to make this card along with multiple images, supply list, and measurements.

All Ready for Halloween?

The Graveyard Gate stamp set and the Detailed Thinlits Dies are perfect for the upcoming Halloween season.

Here is a fun video showing you this fun stamp set and thinlits die.  If you are reading this in your email just click here to watch.

The great sunset in this sample was done using ink and daubers on our Glossy White Cardstock.  The Glossy White is shinny like a glossy photo paper and when you ink up your dauber or sponge and rub it on the paper it blends easily to create spooktacular (LOL) backgrounds.

Here are a couple of samples created by the Stampin' Up! Concept artists.  When I was in Jr. High I had a Halloween party with some of my friends.  It would have been so much fun to have had this stamp set to create a fun invitation like above.

Halloween brings lots of fond memories of dressing up funny in homemade costumes and Trick or Treating.  Candy and sweets only came a few times a year at Valentines, Easter, Christmas, and Halloween is the big haul.

Sunday Sketches SS050 - Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies

Today I paired up the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Seasonal Layers Thinlit Dies.  I have always loved Adirondack chairs so when I saw the framelits with an Adirondack chair I just knew it had to be mine.

SS050 Sunday Sketches card sketch and template Colorful Seasons stamp set by Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com

Adirondack chairs seem to represent peace, tranquility and restfulness.   We all live such busy lives and it really is hard to feel caught up sometimes let alone have extra time just to relax and enjoy.

Sunday Sketches SS050 Colorful Seasons stamp set by Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com

We are on week 50 of the Sunday Sketches so just two more weeks to complete our one year series.  So in a couple of weeks I thought it would be fun to start over again with SS001 sketch and create a new card using the same sketch.

Sunday Sketches SS050

I challenge you to create a card using today's sketch and share it on my Facebook Page.

Remember you can replace squares with circles, make the card horizontal instead of portrait the sketch is just a starting point.

SS050 Sunday Sketches card sketch and template Colorful Seasons stamp set by Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com 2

As I mentioned before the pattern paper is from the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper collection.

For the card base I used Very Vanilla.  The mats are Early Espresso and Pear Pizzazz cardstock.  The Adirondack chair is cut out of Early Espresso cardstock.

The little tag was created using the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set and Early Espresso Classic Ink and the coordinating Classic Label Punch.

The ribbon is 3/8" Mini Chevron Ribbon and the final touch I added were the two little Glitter Enamel Dots in Old Olive.  These have been a huge seller this season and have been on a back order but are back in stock now.

Have a wonderful week and see you back here on Tuesday.

Border Buddy Saturday - Painted Autumn Bundle

It's Border Buddy Saturday and it's Alison here this week.  During September when you make a purchase through our online stores you will receive a free PDF with instructions for 8 cards using the Painted Autumn Bundle of products.

BB Saturday Painted Autumn Bundle 2 www.stampcrazywithalison.ca
This is one of the cards in our free PDF.  I love the sunflower image and you can use so many different colours to create the flower.  In this card I used Pool Party, Crumb Cake and Lemon Lime Twist (my new favourite In Color).  These stamps are photopolymer which makes the 2 step technique you need much easier because you can see right through them for easy placement.  Two step stamping means you stamp one image on top of another to create a more dimensional final image.

BB Saturday Painted Autumn Bundle 3 www.stampcrazywithalison.ca

The little frame is made using the Stitched Shapes Framelits with a coordinating square from the Layering Square Framelits nested inside.  I find it easiest to cut them both out at the same time and it's easy to keep them in place if you use the magnetic platform.

Here's a collage of the other cards included in this month's free PDF instructions.

Just in CASE - Birthday Banners Stamp Set

It's Thursday and time for another card CASE (copy and share everything).

BB JUST IN CASE

Before I became a demonstrator 19 years ago this month I had a huge collection of cards. I would buy assorted cards in boxes when I found some I liked.  So making cards seemed like a natural idea.

So when I saw this box on page 85 I naturally wanted to make a card.

Just in CASE Series Birthday Banners stamp set by Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com
Left: Stampin' Up! Card pg 85 Annual Stampin' Up! Catalog ~ My CASE

My mother created a scrapbook in the late 1950's full of cards she received when I was born and my first few Birthdays.  As a child, I would sit and page through the scrapbook looking at all the fun and beautiful cards.

While stamping can include a variety of projects I think my focus on cards in my business comes from my love of cards.
