Stamping Technique

Embossing with Garden in Bloom Stamp Set

Garden of Bloom stamp set by Stampin' Up! Two Step Stamping www.stampstodiefor.com set sample

Embossing is such a WOW factor and people are always amazed the first time they see it.   The outline of the flower is embossed with Gold Embossing Powder.

Embossing is pretty easy you just need a few extra tools.

  • Versa Mark Pad
  • Embossing Powder
  • Heat Tool

The larger flower is stamped with Powder Pink Classic Ink and then the smaller one is stamped with Melon Mambo Classic Ink.

The outline is stamped with the Versa Mark Ink.  There is nothing magical about the Versa Mark Ink Pad except it dries very slowly so the embossing powder will stick to it.  Then you want to pour  Gold Embossing Powder over the stamped image.

Then just tap off the excess embossing powder and heat the powder with the heat tool until it turns shiny.

Throw Back Thursday Telescoping Stamping Technique

This Thursday brings us back another throw back stamping technique.   Today I used the single stamp set "Friends Who Know".  I enjoyed a chuckle as I read the sentiment.  "We'll be friends forever because you already know too much".  Do you have a special friend like that?  One you can count on in thick and thin.  I will be sending this to one of my special friends letting them know in a sentimental but a bit humorous way how important she is to me.

Telescoping Stamping Technique Friends Who Knew

I stamped the image with Lost Lagoon Ink 4 times and then cut it out with the coordinating framelit so there is no fussy cutting.  Layered them up with Dimensionals and then layered it on the Moonlight Path Designer Series Paper.

Lost lagoon ribbon stampin up

The Lost Lagoon Taffeta Ribbon on the card is from the Holiday Catalog.  I absolutely love this ribbon and will need to stock up on it, as it is only available for a few more weeks.

Stampin' Technique, Watercolor Background with Stampin' Up! Clear Blocks

So many of you have mentioned how much you loved the technique series.  Techniques are always fun and I like quick and easy ones.  Today all you need is a Stampin' Up! clear block some Stampin' Write Markers and Whisper White card stock.

Serene Silhouettes stamp set, watercolor block technique

First lay your block on a piece of light colored paper or grid paper if you have it.  Then take your Stampin' Write markers and color the clear block.  Having it on something light helps you see where you are coloring.  Then simply turn it over and stamp your whisper white card stock.  In the video they spritz it with water, however in my sample here I didn't.  I wanted it more vibrant and definite colors.  If you want a more subtle and blended look, spritz the block lightly with water before stamping your paper.

Stampin' Up! has so many great video's showing techniques and products.  Here is a video demonstrating this technique.

Calypso Coral is one of my favorite colors, I love peachy tones of anykind.  One thing my customers comment on all of the time is how they love how Stampin' Up! products are so color coordinated.  One once related it to a travel agency for stampers (they coordinate it all together for you).

In this card you can see how the inks, card stock, patterned paper, ribbon and the fun Candy Dot Brads all coordinate.  You can use the Candy Dots alone or place them in the center of the Silver Brads for a different look.
