Technique How To Videos

Stepped Up Swap using Painted Petals

Hello Stampers,

It's Border Buddy Saturday - Alison Here!

It was awesome to see my Border Buddy Patsy in Orlando at the Stampin' Up! Leadership conference.  I didn't manage to get a picture together though - how the heck did that happen?

Today I wanted to share one of my swap cards using the Painted Petals stamp set.  It's one of the stamp sets featured in February's Border Bundle class - learn how you can make them in class or earn them free by making an online purchase - read about it here!

Can you spot the difference between this card and the close up one above?  It's the same card except I stepped it up a little but adding Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder.  You can learn this technique by watching my video.

Week 45 Embossed Window, Technique How To

Week 45 Embossed Window, By the Tide Stamp SettThis week is going way to fast!  It is already Thursday and time for another Technique How To.  I enjoyed a wonderful week in Houston, Texas at the Stampin' Up! 2014 Leadership, away from the cold and snow.  I did feel a little bad about missing my dear hubby Tom's birthday.  So I decided to make him a very special card using the Embossed Window Sheet Technique.  We both love the ocean and so I thought it fitting to use the By The Tide stamp set.  And the saying from Trust God stamp set is so fitting --- not only is he God's special work of art, I am so blessed to have spent the last 38 years together.  Sit back relax and enjoy the show!

I hope you found today's video inspiring and wanting to create an embossed window of your own!

Week 44 Split Negative - Technique How To Video

Week 43 Split Negative world treasuresWe are getting closer to the end of a year in Technique How To Videos.  Is there a stamping technique or fun fold card you would like to have me do a video on?  It is much like thinking what to make for supper. I don't mind cooking, sometimes it is just hard to figure out what to make.

My hubby doesn't often get overly excited about my stamped cards, usually says that's nice, but when he came into my stampin' spot and said that is really a cool card.  I knew it was blog worthy.  He is pretty picky you don't get the nick name "Felix" as in Felix Unger for those of you who remember the show The Odd Couple

This weeks technique is called split negative.  I have only done this using black and white embossing powders on black and white cardstock - but you can do them in other colors also.  I love black and white for lots of things.  One of my customers favorite classes was an all black and white card class.  I hope you enjoy the video showing you how to do this technique and I even show making the card from start to finish for those who enjoy watching the entire stamping process.
