Sharing my Thailand Adventure

So many of you have sent emails and notes saying you have been enjoying my pictures from the Stampin' Up! Incentive trip, so I am going to share some more in upcoming Wednesday posts.

1 Thailand Spirit House
This is a picture of the Spirit House as you come into the resort.  Almost every home and business has a spirit house.  I really didn't know anything about them before and found this nice article about what they are and why they have them.

2 Tom and I in Thailand
I never think about how much taller Tom is than me until I see a picture like this one.  And looking at this picture he is right crops are not for me.  Do any of you remember Tim Conway in Dwarf Golf?  Well this photo of me totally made me think of him so I think these crops are going to good will.

3 Monsoon Rain
This is Des my Border Buddy Alison's husband and Alison is under the bridge in the background.  It was the monsoon season when we were in Thailand so almost every day at passing shower would come in.  The rain didn't last too long but it could dump a huge amount of water on you.  They don't call it "monsoon season" for nothing!

4 Hiding under the bridge
It is hard to see the rain but you can see the stampers under the bridge.  Not sure why they are using it as an umbrella they are already wet from the pool LOL.

Most of the Stampin' Up! Trips we have spent sight seeing but this one I really wanted to relax and that included time at the pool almost every day.

8 Me and Alison 2
Some days we stayed in the pool till dark.  And then just went to dinner at the poolside restaurant.  Everday in Thailand was a bad hair day for me with the humidity!  We have hot and humid in lake country in Minnesota, but nothing like Thailand. While the humidity levels were often the same at home this humidity is different, not sure how it can be but it was.

5 Entry to resort
This is the entry to the front of the Angsana Laguna Resort.  You can see the puddles from the recent rain.

6 beautiful view
Beautiful view as we walked along the resort.

7 canel we cross over to our room
Every day we walked across a bridge over this canal to go from our room to the main resort.  We would see resort workers, kayakers, and paddle boarders often as we crossed.

The resort entirely SU
On Thursday night these halls were filled with Demonstrators going to the Share Night.  Different demonstrators from around the globe shared some fun stamping ideas.

Jennifer Gulch was one of the demonstrators and I loved her work!

Thailand share Pizza Box from Stampin' Up!These are the little pizza boxes embellished.  You can use them for all sorts of things.  I am going to make some up with 3x3 cards inside.

Thailand Adventure

Thailand 2017 Stampin' Up! 2Each morning after breakfast we head over to the Hospitality Room to play a game. This year was a bean bag toss and of course Stampin' Up! is very easy going so you could stand as close as you wanted to to get it in the hole for the prize you wanted.

Thailand 2017 Stampin' Up! 1The hospitality room is open most of the day. There is a cooler with a selection of waters, juice and pop (or soda as some call it).  And everyday is a new array of amazing treats.

Thailand Travels and another Make and Take Share

Year of Cheer Suite by Stampin' Up! Cheers to You Stamp Set and Year of Cheer Paper 2

The memories of our Thailand trip will glow for many years much like the foil paper in this card.  This is one of the Make and Takes we made in Thailand featuring the Year of Cheer Suite in the Holiday Catalog.  The Holiday Catalog goes live September 1st and you won't want to miss checking out this glowing suite.

Year of Cheer Suite by Stampin' Up! Cheers to You Stamp Set and Year of Cheer Paper 3

Much like the Beauty of Thailand the beauty of this card is hard to capture in a photo.  The foil designer paper had 4 different designs in champagne, copper, gold and silver.

The stunning Foil Snowflake can be either Silver or Gold with a simple flip of the snowflake.

See the dangling little star tied with the Linen Thread?  This fun embellishment comes in a package of 24 and has both gold and silver charms in 2 different designs.

There are so many amazing things it this Holiday Catalog I am going to warn you - your list will be HUGE!

I know it isn't everyone's favorite thing to look at friends vacation picture, that is why I am putting them at the end of the post so you can escape easily.

Day  Two of the Thailand Adventure

Morning Fruit Mangosteen
Tom is opening a Mangosteen fruit for me - these were my favorite exotic tropical fruit and part of the wonderful bowl of fruit that welcomed us to our room.

Day 2 Thailand Incentive Trip!
We spent the 2nd day with our dear Stampin' Up! incentive trip buddies Dave & Georgia walking along the beach and swimming the afternoon away in the pool.  For some reason I only have a pic of the guys!

I was a bit freaked out as we walked along the beach all the little sand crabs ran around down into their holes.  I really don't like critters and there were a few on this trip.  Stay tuned in weeks to come for more critter stories.

Day Three of the Thailand Adventure

Thailand Wires
This morning we boarded a bus and headed to the east side of the island.  The wires on the poles were overwhelming, it was an endless stream of wires everywhere.

Boat we took to the floating city
When we reached the east side of the island we boarded a boat to take us out to the floating city of Koh-Panyi.

Dock at the floating city
Here is were we disembarked the boat to tour the floating city.

Koh-Panyi Thailand
Here is an arieal view of the city, of course I didnt' take this photo from the air.

Thailand Floating Village
This sort of blew my mind - we were out in the middle of the Andaman Sea and here is the city built on stilts with a population of over 1,000 people.

Thailand Floating Village (3)
As we walked through the shops and small boardwalk streets with water on the edges I wondered how they raise small toddlers (I am sure they learn to swim early).

Thailand Floating Village (4)
You can see the  blue roof of the elementary school on the left, the picnic tables are their lunch room.

Thailand Floating Village (5)
Here we are getting ready to meet the boat that dropped us off on the other side of the city.

Thailand Floating Village (6)
We saw many of this type of boat in Thailand with these big card engines and long shafts.

James Bond Island
Our next stop was the famous James Bond Island.

Lunch on the Beach
We finished out the day on a beautiful island with a feast set for a Queen.  The tables were sheltered with a canopy provided by the beautiful trees it really was breathtaking.

Enjoying the Beach in Thailand
The rest of the day was spent swimming in the ocean and just some R&R on the beach!

Just another day in Paradise.  I feel so blessed to have earned so many incentive trips with Stampin' Up! and I couldn't do it without you amazing customers and team members who make my job the BEST in the WORLD!

2017 Thailand Travels and Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek

Traveling half way around the world  on the 2017 Thailand Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip has left me with some major Jet Lag!  It wasn't bad when we arrived in Thailand (except for being in bed by 7 or 8 in the evening).  However returning back home we have had some major adjustments, but all worth it!

Stampin' Up! had the entire Angsana Laguna Resort in Phukett, Thailand.  You can see from the image above how large it is.  So fun to be walking through the resort and meeting people and knowing you are all a part of the same amazing company.

No Stampin' Up! Event is complete without stamping.  I will be sharing some samples over the next few weeks along with some photo's of our trip.  Hope you will indulge me as I relive this amazing trip.

2017 Thailand Make & Takes

Painted Autumn Paper by Stampin' Up! Thailand Make and Take 5

We made these three cards at the incentive trip Make & Takes.  No Stampin' Up! event is complete without stamping.  I love that they are  quick and easy cards.  They will be great to CASE for upcoming fall birthdays.  Just change out your card base and pattern paper for some fun variety and stamp Happy Birthday.

Painted Autumn Paper and Painted Harvest stamp set by Stampin' Up!
The patterned paper is the #144613 Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper from the soon to be released Holiday Catalog along with the #144783 Painted Harvest Stamp Set all by Stampin' Up!  The stamp set is a photopolymer stamp set which is my favorite.

The Painted Harvest Stamp Set can be part of a #146021 bundle which includes the Leaf Punch.  I punched out some velum with the leaf punch to embellish this card.  We received so many amazing stamp sets, bundles, paper and embellishments on this trip.  One always has to take an extra suitcase just to bring back all the fun stuff.

2017 Thailand Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip Korean Air A380
This is the amazing plane we flew to Thailand via Korean Air they are partner of Delta airlines and are top notch!

2017 Thailand Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip Angsana Laguna Resort in Phukett Thailand 3
We arrived almost in the middle of the night so the resort was very quiet, this is the lobby at night.

Here are the steps down to the path to our home away from home.

A fun Welcome Sign with my name on it!

2017 Thailand Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip 22
This was or amazing room, what a welcome sight after 30 hours of travel time.

2017 Thailand Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip 1
Have you ever seen one of these?  When we arrived to our room we couldn't figure out how to get the lights on.  After several minutes of taking the bulb out of the one lite light and trying in the other lamps I found this by the door.

You have to slip your key card into the slot for the rest of the lights to work.  Great part is I never lost my key card as you remove it when you leave and it shuts off all the lights.

2017 Thailand Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip Room with a View Angsana Laguna Resort in Phukett Thailand
This was the view we woke up to from our balcony.  Love our location so quiet and peaceful in the mornings.

2017 Thailand Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip 2
A basket of exotic fruit awaited our arrival.  Some I had never seen or heard of.

Ride to general session Thailand 2017 Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip
