Some of my closest friends I meet through stamping and one of my closest friends introduced me to stamping. Sue Nelson shared Stampin' Up! with me over 18 years ago.
It all started like this…
I saw an invitation to a stamping party on my Mom's kitchen. It was at the home of my closets childhood friend mom's house. Now home parties was not my thing – but it had been awhile since I had seen Sue and I thought if her mom is having a party surely she will be there and we can catch up.
Well guess what, when I arrived she was the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. I had never seen stamping and didn't consider myself creative, however when I stamped that first card it was amazing! I will never forget the feeling. I booked a party after all Sue was just getting started and you have to help your friends out. It wasn't long and my husband said if you sign up I think you get a discount and the rest is history.
I celebrated my 17th anniversary as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator last month and I still love it as much as I did back then. Never did I dream I would leave my full time job as a Optician to share and teach stamping.
Well Sue and I still stamping today and we are both still demonstrators.
We have celebrated many Birthday's together, this picture was taken on my 2nd birthday in 1958 so now you can all do the math and figure out how old I am LOL. I am on the right.
Here we are at Sue's Birthday a few weeks ago at one of our favorite spots for lunch "Just Like Grandmas". We shopped for a bit in the cute little gift shops that line the grounds. Then we headed back to Sue's house to stamp together! We still love to spend all day together like we did when we were young.
Here are a few of our creations from our stamping day! We used her new Garden in Bloom Stampin' Up! stamp set. I don't have that one yet so it was really fun to play with it.
The week following Sue sent me a Thank You card using that set that we had wanted to make that day but ran out of time.
All these cards were cased from Pinterest – sometimes it is fun to create and sometimes it is fun to just case!
Here is a sneak peek of another we made — next week I will show you the complete card along with a video how to make it~
