Today's is the day for a trip around the world! It is the 3rd Tuesday which means it is Color Your World International Blog Hop. Featuring amazing Top Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world sharing their hand stamped project using Stampin' Up! paper crafting products and a special color palette.
Today's Color Palette is…
We have the blessing of living on a lake and I never take it for granted. Most often people think of sunsets, but something that is often not mentioned is Sunrises.
We have some of the most amazing sunrises and when I saw this one the other morning I thought of our color palette and it inspired me to create a sunrise card using the Lovely as a Tree stamp set.
Of all the cards I send I am most grateful for a hand stamped card to send when someone passes. It just seems more personal and filled with more love. Our lives have been touched by more loss the past few years. Maybe that is a sign of aging. Like a sunrise giving us a new day, death is also new day and is very bittersweet.
Brief Description:
I used four of the 5 colors in the palette today Elegant Eggplant, Peekaboo Peach, Perfect Plum and Pink Pirouette.
- The card base is Elegant Eggplant paper (4 1/4" x 11" or you can make your base 5 1/2" x 8 1/2").
- The mat is the Peekaboo Peach paper (3 3/4" x 5").
- I stamped the row of trees & sentiment in Elegant Eggplant Classic Ink on a piece of (3 1/2" x 4 3/4") Very Vanilla Cardstock.
- Then I sponged in this order from bottom to top: Pink Pirouette, Peekaboo Peach, Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant Classic Inks to create the sunrise.
- Tied a Peekaboo Peach ruched ribbon between the trees and sentiment.
- Then I attached three sequins I pulled off my string of Blushing Bride Sequins using glue dots.
A final touch is I added some Wink of Stella to give the sunrise some glimmer.
