It is Sunday Sketch time and I am sharing the Peekaboo Farm sketch card today. Who can resist the cute little farm animal faces peeking out from somewhere?

Card Sketches can help to get your creativity fired up. They are open to interpretation, no real right or wrong way. You can create a card exactly using the sketch layout or change it up a bit. Here I changed the orientation of the card from a landscape to portrait. Instead of three circles I have the two little faces peeking over the wall. Let your imagination run wild!

Sometimes I find coloring very relaxing, but not too much of it. I colored the stone wall, horse and cow with Stampin’ Blends. Each package of blends includes two high-quality alcohol markers a light and a dark. Stampin’ Blends are alcohol markers that help you to create highlights and shadows easily for a 3D coloring effect, making them my coloring tool of choice. I typically start with the darker color and move to the lighter color. I use the blunt tip and in a circular motion blend the two colors.

Notice the image on the left, the circles are cut out with the Picture This Dies. Somehow I missed this in the catalog until just now. Does that ever happen to you? I can look at the catalog hundreds of times and always seem to find something I have missed.

The die set includes two dies on with stitched circles and one with stitched rectangles. You can cut out the shapes to create a window for the farm animals to peek through. As a bonus you have stitched shapes left over for another project.

I wanted to create the look of a field behind the stone wall so I used the Harvest Meadow Designer Series Paper. I layered it on a piece of Basic White that was 4″ x 5 1/4″ and glued it to the Basic Gray cardfront.
