Hello Stampers,
Patsy here with this weeks Border Buddies Saturday. Just like we have borders and our love of stamping in common, we also have Frozen the movie in common. Did you know that the Disney Movie was inspired by the Ice Hotel in Quebec (Hôtel de Glace)?
Thomas and Frozen also have something in common, they will make their debut at our grandchildren’s birthday party this afternoon. While I don’t think they would get too excited about one of Grandma’s hand stamped cards, I can’t wait to see the excitement on their faces when they open their favorite characters!
For Alayna our 5 year old granddaughter, it is all about “Frozen” the movie. The move is about “Anna a fearless optimist who sets off on an epic journey-teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff and his loyal reindeer Sven-to find her sister Elsa. Elsa has icy powers and has trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter.” I am thinking maybe Elsa has visited Minnesota and her powers have placed us in an endless winter too!
Along the way they meet Olaf who inspired this card. Created with a series of circles and oval punches he almost comes to life. As I stamped the sentiment “You’re How Old?” from the Just Sayin stamp set, I could here Olaf’s voice and him saying “I’m Olaf and I like warm hugs!”
Issac will be delighted as soon as he opens his pop up card. He will be turning 2 and it is all about Thomas the Train. Many of you I am sure have heard of Thomas, since he has been around since the mid 40′. In the TV series Thomas and Friends you might even recognize the narrator and The Conductor in the early series as Ringo Starr and later series feature George Carlin.
Take a peek at what he will see when he opens the card!
This pop up card was created with Stampin’ Up!’s Label Pop ‘n Cuts Big Shot Die. I also used Stampin’ Up! punches to create Thomas. Punch art cards always take more time and patience but the outcome is so worth it! Want to check out some more punched art?

Sharing…
I would love for you to share with me your favorite character and maybe I can come up with some punch art for you. While the link is hard to find, below the share buttons click on comments and let me know.
Hope you enjoyed this weeks border buddies.

They did love them… it was so fun to watch them open them. Of course Isaac wanted to take the train off and I told them to let him and he can play with it. Thanks for stopping by!

OMGoodness Patsy, you’ve done it again! Love these cards.
I too enjoy making punch art and my grandson who turned 2 just after Christmas LOVES Thomas also. I think I’ll try and re-create your card as I like to send fun, random cards from time to time just so he gets his own “real mail”! Can’t wait to get started…Thank you so much for sharing this.
BTW, do you have a “pattern” for a Ninja Turtle in punch art? I need to make one before next Saturday.
